All of Diana Waring's tapes make history come alive as an intriguing adventure. This one, for our family, was the best we've ever heard from her. Facts which are rarely heard are laid out in a way that reveals them as more than facts, but as clues to understanding the bigger picture of human experience. My children asked for this tape EVERY time we were in the car for months. We had it on when an adult friend of ours was helping my husband build our house, and, to our surprise, he asked 'Why wasn't I ever taught these things in school? This is fascinating!'. This one needs more than 5 stars!
