5.0 out of 5 stars A smashing success!!!, April 22, 2005

This review is from: The Tales of Tiptoes Lightly: The Bee Who Lost His Buzz, Pumpkin Crow, Lucy Goose and the Half-Egg (Paperback)
"The Tales of Tiptoes Lightly" is an absolutely delightful little book of magical adventures. In today's world of technology and cartoons, Reg Down successfully creates a refreshing encounter with the brilliance of a child's world. The imaginative pictures, names, stories and characters blend into a canvas of wonder and delight suitable for the growing child and his imagination. I highly recommend this book to any parent who wishes their son or daughter to experience the wonders of childhood imaginings at their fullest and most vibrant.

My 5 yr old daughter received this book from me for Christmas. The stories are very short (about 1-3 pages each) but so much is packed within each story. They are all age appropriate for any age; they are calming, interesting, and they draw the children in with their playful, magical characters and the expreiences that they all have. There is no one religious focus here so it is more than likely usable by all. There is a sense of respect for nature and spirituality. The stories should be read in order as one story tags the next. My daughter loved being read to and was able to read some herself since they are short. I enjoyed them as well and I highly recommend this series. We have already ordered another tiptoes book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Bedtime Reading, December 2, 2006

This review is from: The Tales of Tiptoes Lightly: The Bee Who Lost His Buzz, Pumpkin Crow, Lucy Goose and the Half-Egg (Paperback)
My preschool children love this book. It works especially well at nap or bedtime, when each chapter can stand alone as a short story, but with a continuing story arc between chapters. The nature and fairy/gnome imagery works well within the Waldorf early childhood curriculum, and the stories have moments of humor to amuse parents as well.

Our family LOOOOOVES this book. My daughters are 4 & 6 and every night they excitedly request tiptoe's adventures. Such beautiful writing! All children should have this lovely book. The short stories make for a quick ease into bedtime or an even more enjoyable session if you have time to read a couple of the stories. This is highly recommended especially for the waldorf families.

We got this book for our daughter when she was three. Now that she is four, she continues to love the stories in this trilogy and asks for them every night before bed. They are wonderfully written and short (a page or two), making them well suited for an evening bedtime story.

5.0 out of 5 stars from a non Waldorf parent, December 13, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
As a non Waldorf parent, I was curious about how this book would be received by my daughter. She (and I) are so enjoying it! We are more than half way through, and she can't wait each night for another chapter or two! I am considering how to make a Tiptoes for my daughter for Christmas, an unplanned for gift, but something I know she would love b/c of how much she is loving the stories. She seems especially fond of Pine Cone and Pepper Pot. : )

This is an amazing, wonderful, peaceful book! It's just so simple and lovely. atoygarden.com is selling autographed copies. My daughter's had these books since she was 3, she's now 7 and still loves them. I will save them for my grandchildren!

My sister bought this book for the girls for Christmas and recorded her voice reading the stories on a CD. We've been listening to these stories on the way to school for the past 2 years! There are 3 stories in one book - Bee who lost his buzz, pumpkin crow and Lucy Goose and the Half-egg. The girls giggle with delight to these stories!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful World of Tiptoes Lightly, January 6, 2012
At the time we got this book, my daughter was 3 YO. And even I was so enhanced with the stories, she was just too young for it. I had to wait until she was 4 to reintroduce it again. And what a joy it was! It became one of the most read and loved books in our home.

World created by Reg Down brings you to wonderful, gentle world of fairy Tiptoes Lightly and her friends. Stories are short, 1 - 3 pages, so you can read as little or as much as you want. Usually, we do not stop with just one and very often my daughter continue to play as one of the characters. We simply love Tiptoes!
