5.0 out of 5 stars The best Tales game to date. September 23, 2008
By Hachi
Edition:Premium
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Ever since the previews last December, Tales of Vesperia looked amazing! Even now at its release, it still continues to excite me. At first, the graphics wowed me. Definitely a great step for the series. The music, done again by Motoi Sakuraba, is amazing. I love the Ring a Bell remixes that were done. Even the opening song, Ring a Bell by BONNIE PINK, is amazing. It's one of my favorite songs. I didn't really have an opinion about the characters until I played the game. My favorite characters are Judith and Raven (how can you not love them?). The cutscenes themselves are amazing. There really isn't anything negative I can say about this game. If you have a 360, then get the game. If you don't, then get out and get one! This is one game you should definitely not miss out on!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great RPG for Xbox 360 October 17, 2008

Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
This is one the best series of Tales SAGA to come for the Xbox360. The game has great graphics and animation with voice overs during dialogs.
The game battle system has been upgraded from the old series and the AI setup has been improved. The battle events are more in-depth than before. The story and environment makes this game very fun and entertaining. The characters have unique story development. I fully recommend this game and you wont be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars A refreshing change from Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest February 7, 2012
Edition:Premium|Verified Purchase
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Arguably the 2 big RPGs from Japan that everyone knows of are Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest. The next most popular series though is the Tales series and with good reason. The Tales games focus on character interaction and all the most recent ones have included skits you can watch throughout the game (although they aren't mandatory) that give you insight into the characters and most times a laughable scenario to watch that fleshes out the world you're in a little more.

The game itself is beautifully animated and the combat is pretty classic Tales combat albeit with a few tweaks. If you've played any Tales game previously then you probably already played this by now... if you haven't what are you waiting for?! If you haven't I'm sure you can find a copy of Tales of Vesperia for not too much and you really should check it out if you are interested in a great RPG with pretty deep characters.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great JRPG August 20, 2010
By Justin
Edition:Premium|Verified Purchase
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I bought this game twice awhile back (first time the standard edition and then the premium). I started playing the Tales series games back when ToS was first released dubbed in America and immediately fell in love with the franchise.

Tales of Vesperia is no exception to the outstanding work that Bandai/Namco have invested into the franchise and is in my opinion, the best one yet. I've currently caught up on all of the franchise series with the exception of Phantasia, which I'm in progress of playing. ToV offers the perfect blend of story, action and adventure you would expect from the franchise and is in its self a unique JRPG experience.

I would recommend that anyone who is a JRPG and/or anime (very anime oriented style/cutscenes) fan to take an interest in the franchise, and what perfect game to start with than ToV.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tales Of Vesperia is the Pinnacle of the series. September 29, 2008
Edition:Premium
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I was never a Tales fan per se prior to Symphonia which was excellent. I'm happy to report Tales of Vesperia is better than Symphonia in every way.

The characters are all pretty deep and well done. Voice acting is great and the animations are solid. Combat is fun and I spent over 150 hours destroying this game. The darker tale of Yuri is much more interesting than your cliche hero in Flynn (Secondary character). Media outlets have really under rated this game. Easily a 9/10 in any JRPG fans eyes.

Overall:
Must buy for ANY JRPG fan.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must Have For Every 360 Owner October 30, 2012
Edition:Premium
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
With the price of this limited edition I was very skeptical to add it to my collection. After reading the glowing reviews I decided to give in... and boy everyone of them were spot on. To start with the gameplay is horribly addicting. I'm currently around 12 hrs into the game and that's over 4 days of playing. The battles are easy to get in and out of so getting some extra exp to level up isnt a drag. They keep introducing new battle elements deep into the game so things stay fresh. The story is immensely deep and it moves at a swift enough pace to keep you with it. The only thing this game suffers from is a slight lack of creativity. It has the usual RPG trimming of rat monsters to start, the same base creature with new skins to represent new monsters, the item that identifies what the monesters HP and abilities are. All this is only bad if creativity is your measuring stick. If you are like me and the elements work well together and get a good game going then you'll never even notice them.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good game.
I prefered Tales of Abyss, but that's just personal taste. Although, now they'll be re-releasing this for the PS3 with an additional character I wish I'd waited.
