A twist in the tale, January 28, 2011
This review is from: Tales From Wonderland (Paperback)
Both beautiful and creepy. Well told stories and structured comic form. I bought this on a whim to try something new and it didn't disappoint.
A bit of reasearch: this book is a prequel to the Return to Wonderland series revealing how the characters of wonderland came to be. Namely, The White Rabbit, The Cheshire Cat, Queen of Hearts, and Hatter. Including other stories, you'll have to discover for yourself.
The Caterpillar is a very interesting character, my favorite really. So in conclusion I'll end this with my final thoughts of the story, `tell me more.'

Second Place Position to "Return to Wonderland", August 13, 2011
This review is from: Tales From Wonderland (Paperback)
The "Wonderland" series are a set of comics telling twisted tales loosely based on the characters in Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland. Best described as a gory, sexier Fables, the artists run wild with their depictions of the sexily dressed female characters and the bloody violence. The first comics of the "Wonderland" series were collected in the trade paperback "Return to Wonderland." That book was a 5-star, over-the-top, sexy, violent tour de force.
This volume, which collects a bunch of "one shot" comic issues, is not as good. There is no flow to the series, no common plot, which was so effective in "Return." Occasionally, in we get a brief glimpse of the greatness of the first series, but then it's snuffed out just as quickly.
The art is less consistent, and the covers are not as good. But it's still great fun to read and for "Wonderland" fans, worth having. The book just doesn't catch "Lightning in a bottle" like the first book did.

Creepy but good, June 9, 2009
This review is from: Tales From Wonderland (Paperback)
This book is a great addition to the return to wonderland series. The tale is a bit creepy but so well thought out, and the artwork is awsome.
