5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful!
Great product! Can't wait until Christmas morning to be able to play this game. Next best thing to watching Andy on TV.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not as much fun as checkers, but it'll do
In the right company - a chapter of "The Andy Griffith Show Rerun Watchers Club," for instance, or any group of Mayberry-minded cronies - this game can be a lot of fun. Beware, though, if your opponents are only casual watchers: They'll be bored and you'll win handily, but without satisfaction, every time.

The main problem with this game is its lack of drama. Play consists of rolling a single die and answering trivia questions (true/false, specific answer, multiple choice) to advance your token around the board. That's it: There are none of the unexpected detours, setbacks or rewards that distinguish the best board games.

Had the board included Mayberry landmarks (The Courthouse, Floyd's Barber Shop, Wally's Service Station, The Diner, Myers Lake, etc.) and corresponding activities, play would be enlivened tremendously. The game would also be more enjoyable if it included questions about the program's stars, guest stars and other "reality" aspects, instead of dealing solely with character and Mayberry-oriented trivia.

Despite its shortcomings, I recommend this game to those TAGS fans who have to have absolutely everything associated with the show, and to anyone lucky enough to have enough Andy-philes in their orbit to organize a fair game.

This is a handsome product (despite the rather crude and unflattering portrait of Andy and Opie on the box and on the board itself) and is sure to become a coveted collector's item in the future. It would make an excellent gift for any TAGS fan in your life.

NOTE: "Educational value" really does not apply to this game,
unless you are seeking to expand your knowledge of TAGS!

this is a quaint game that takes some of us down memory lane with the whole mayberry scene. i bought this as a gift for a family member and we played it and it was very enjoyable for everyone. geared more for the older generation concidering the content is focused on those good ole days.

I bought this gift for my husband, who is a huge Andy Griffith Show fan. He hates to play games because he loses at them most of the time, but this one he won with no problem. It is a lot like a Trivia Pursuit type game and you really learn a lot about the Andy Griffith Show.

The game was in very good condition. Except for a couple of small cracks in the game board, it was perfect.

The game was fun for those of us who were Andy Griffith fans. Team play recommended for a group if a player or players have had limited viewing of the shows. Some answers on the cards are too limited and may need an "expert" in the player group to clarify and justify what otherwise could be considered a player's wrong answer (e.g., brief answer on the card contains only a few words of what the full response from the show really was).

2.0 out of 5 stars Not much fun, June 19, 2009

First off, we're big fans of Andy and the gang.

Just not fans of this "game".

Granted, they have tons of trivia questions, some of which you'll never guess even being a fan of the show.

But they could have done a lot more with this product. It consist of bascially trivia cards, dice, tokens and a very bland board.

There is no game fun to this product. No "Go back 10 spaces", "Go ahead 10 spaces" "Lose a turn" or anything

They could have at least made the board to look like Mayberry, and have the Courthouse with corresponding questions, Floyds Barber shop with questions, Lake Myers etc

Very disappointing

This is a very fun game to play! It is very hard if you don't watch the show all that often or haven't seen it in a while. But, if you watch the show regularly, you will do well at this game!

This game is really fun and very challenging getting the right answers. I have the whole AG DVD collection and watch them repeatedly and still was challenged on the questions. It was a lot of fun.
