This is a great game for couples to play, especially if they are in a serious relationship and considering marriage. It highlights a lot of important questions that couples should ask each other, things that will certainly come up later. The more you know before taking the big step, the greater your chances of maintaining it afterwards. Or, if you find out you are totally incompatible, you will save yourself some heartache down the road. The game is noncompetitive, although I suppose you could modify the rules to make it so if desired. There is no score keeping. It's really just a guided way of getting to know one another. My girlfriend and I, who were dating long distance, especially enjoyed the fact that it provided things to talk about that we probably would not have thought of on our own. It also helped us break the ice on many subjects that might have been difficult to bring up "out of the blue." We modified the rules so that we always both answered every question, but alternated who went first. We found this greatly amplified the benefits of the game. I noticed that others have tagged this game with keywords like "erotic kits for lovers" and "sex game." I just want to assure everyone that the questions, while dealing with many candid subjects including sex, are very tastefully worded. Only a few cards actually deal with sex-related questions, and they are very mild and open-ended. These cards are not raunchy or heavy on sexual content. Most of the cards deal with subjects like, "Describe how you handle stress," "Name something you really admire about your mate," "What do you think about credit card use," etc. I highly recommend it. My only regret is that there are not more cards. I would buy decks 3 and 4 if they existed.

Along with the original board game, this set of cards is useful for working with couples who are highly distressed. It helps keep the tone lighter and allows each partner to share as well as learn about the other partner.

This item just contains cards that are about the size of standard playing cards. I found it worked well for rediscovering and learning new things about the person that I've been with for 5 years. The instructions tell you to have one person use a card then put it back, but instead we would pick a card and have each person respond to the same question. This not only increased the usable life of the game, but also improved the effectiveness since we got to really compare our varying viewpoints side by side.
