5.0 out of 5 stars cousinpaco is unbeatable at this game!!!, January 16, 2003

If the new edition of "Movie Mania" is even close to being as cool as the original, it's a definite 5-star item (hence the fact that I gave it five stars--well, fifteen, actually). I'm thrilled to be the first person to review it!

The game consists of quotes, trivia questions and other stuff that you have to answer to move around the board. Once you succesfully answer a question from each category, you win! Really, there are no losers!

I received the original version as a gift from my chum chatchi, and we had hours of fun playing it. We're quite well-versed in movies, as you can tell by reading some of our other reviews. My only complaint is that the original version had too many questions and quotes from movies that I'd never heard of, including one starring Michael Biehn (I can't remember the title).

So when you need a break from actually watching movies, you can play this game and keep your movie-game-skills sharp.

1.0 out of 5 stars WORST GAME EVER, September 30, 2008
= Durability:1.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:1.0 out of 5 stars

I don't even know where to begin with how horrible this game was. The makers of this game chose about fifty of the all time worst movies ever and kept asking questions from them. There were actually multiple questions about the movie Under Siege 2!!!!!! Some other favorites: Time Cop, heck any Jean-Clause Van Damme film, In the Mouth of Madness, Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen films, etc. Many of the classics that we all know and love were not even used, or if they were, had terrible questions associated with them. I also found a number of mistakes. They couldn't even answer their own terrible questions! Lastly, these morons kept putting the movie title (the answer to the question) in the actual question! Example: "We're not going to keep the old yeller dog are we?"

1.0 out of 5 stars The worst trivia game ever!, September 30, 2008

This game is absolutely worthless. First of all, the diversity of movies from which the creators drew questions is TERRIBLE. There must have been at least 20 questions from Jean-Claude Van Damme movies. Moreover, the answers on the back of the cards were often wrong! For example...The name of Robert Redford's bat in The Natural. Everyone knows the answer is "Wonderboy." But the idiot author of this game put down "lightning." This is one of MANY times they got an answer wrong. It is almost like this game was created by one guy, who took his list of favorite movies (almost none of which are on the AFI top 100) and kept coming up with questions from those same movies...and then getting the answers wrong. This game was good for one thing...it made excellent kindling for the campfire. Don't waste your money!
