5.0 out of 5 stars Another great one.
I'm impressed with this book. The whole series has revolved around the Daughters and left much mystery concerning Maggie. This book thoroughly explains Maggie's past, starting with when she first learned of the Atrox and how she got involved in the fight against it. I read #9 many moons ago, and when i picked this book up, i was really excited. I wouldn't say that i was necessarily disappointed but it wasn't one of the best. My first thought was that Ms. Ewing's contract required a certain number of books, and she needed this one to complete that quota.
Penelope, aka Maggie, is the daughter of an Athenian Warrior, at least...

I'm impressed with this book. The whole series has revolved around the Daughters and left much mystery concerning Maggie. This book thoroughly explains Maggie's past, starting with when she first learned of the Atrox and how she got involved in the fight against it. Ewing once again demonstrates her wonderful ability to detail everything she writes about, and the ending is just as good as the beginning. It's one of those books that you just can't seem to put down. As to who will take her place, it leaves you in much thought and anticipation for the 11th book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Good Book, October 1, 2003
A Kid's Review
This review is from: The Talisman (Daughters of the Moon, Book 10) (Hardcover)
When I first heard that this book would be about Maggie instead of one of the daughters, I thought it would be really boring and disappointing. But I was wrong! This book was actually very good and it was a nice way to say goodbye to Maggie. All DOTM fans should read this but anyone who likes Greek mytholgy and stuff like that might also find this book slightly interesting.

5.0 out of 5 stars Daughter's of the Moon fans must read!, September 12, 2003
This review is from: The Talisman (Daughters of the Moon, Book 10) (Hardcover)
This is a really great book, however a little slow in the beginning. This book is about Maggie, her past, and how she bacame involved with The Atrox and Daughter's of the Moon. I must warn anyone though, that this book revolves only around Maggie, the Daughter's are never mentioned. Its so great to finally learn about Maggie. You can't read Daughter's of the Moon without reading this Book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Penelope in ancient Greece, June 14, 2004
A Kid's Review
This review is from: The Talisman (Daughters of the Moon, Book 10) (Hardcover)
This book gives you history plus a story about Penelope. I like how she is adventurous and goes into the caves and fights the Atrox. I also liked learning how the Atrox was once like a man. My favorite part was when she went into Hades to find Hector. The way she got there was a good part of the story.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Talisman - Maggie's Past, April 24, 2004

This review is from: The Talisman (Daughters of the Moon, Book 10) (Hardcover)
whew! this is actually the BEST in the series! i actually read this faster than the others because it was soooooo exciting and i didn't want to put it down! ok, ok, enough with the blabbering.. about the book..

well, Maggie realizes that The Atrox has regained human form, and before she announced who's gonna take her place, she remembers her past. Before, in Greece, she was called Penelope and she witnesses The Atrox suck the life force of an innocent soldier. Then Maggie takes a vow to destroy its evil and goes to the temple of Selene. Pandia, her mentor, gives her a moon charm (talisman) with words carved into it. The words actually can defeat The Atrox, but in doing so, Maggie will be consumed with it. anyway.. she falls in love with Hector and she witnesses him turning evil. Also, her sister Taemestra has turned to The Atrox too. Can Maggie summon her courage aqnd fullfill her pledge to Selene? Can she really fight The Atrox? read it and find out! LoL..

This is a awesome book. I loved it. It is the second best book, after the first book, in this series. The author keeps getting better and better. This book is all about Maggie's past. It tells about her past to shows you how she got to where she is. Most of it take place in ancient Athens, Greece. She is known as Penelope, when the book takes place in ancient Greece. Maggie has to name her successor, before all her time on earth runs out. We first met Maggie in the first Daughter of the Moon book, Goddess of the Night. Maggie is the one who tells the Daughters of Moon, what they are. She is their mentor. This also both also tells about how Maggie meets Hector, who we first met in the seventh book, Moon Demon. She evens loses her sister, to the Antrox, in this book.

Personally, I'm glad Lynne wrote this book. In this book she explained everything about Maggie. It was a sad ending though (sniff).

Maggie is an important character. Since the first volume I wanted to know more about her and this book explains it.

Hooray for Maggie!!!!

This review is from: The Talisman (Daughters of the Moon, Book 10) (Hardcover)
One day I was looking through books and never saw anything that really caught my eye until' I picked up the book. At the beginning I was reading it and it was sort of boring but little by little it got more exciting and I fell ing love with it. I felt my blood rushs through as though I was running from evil. My head whirled and my heart bouncing aganinst my chest. How? Well, first she simply falls in love , but then after a feww pages. . . She becomes a warrior against her sister. .
