This book grabbed me from the first chapter and kept my interest and attention until the last, searing love scene. It has something for everyone. If you like paranormal romance, its got it. If you like erotic romance, its got it. If you like interracial romance, its got some of the hottest interracial love scenes I've ever read. If you like mythical talismans, its got it. If you like a little bad boy vampire thrown in...you guessed it...its got it. The vampire in question, Serge, has his own book, Bloodlust 2, which is super hot. In short this was a hot read that left me needing a shower and my dear hubby.

I could not put this book down. Although I don't generally read paranormal romances, a friend recommended this one. I bought it, expecting to be disappointed. Man was I in for a treat. Not only does it have one of my favorite romanctic combinations (an interracial romance with a really hunky hero), it's extremely sensual. I hate authors who get you all worked up and then slam the bedroom door in your face. Well, this author leaves the door wide open. With this author, there is no door! I loved the frank language and the sex scenes nearly burned my fingers.

My only complaint? There wasn't enough of the the sexy, bad boy vampire. I am now sold on paranormal romances.

I really liked this book. I enjoy interracial romances and paranormal books. This book marries these two in a nice way that I really liked.

I almost felt like I was getting three interracial love stories in one because in addition to the main couple, there's the hero's nephew who is involved in an interracial romance of his own (I wish that had been more fully addressed.), and there's also the romance between the hero and his lady's great grandparents that is the basic for their love and this story.

And that cover is so hot and indicative of the heat generated by this very nicely written love scenes between the hero and heroine.

I can't wait for this author to write another interracial romance.

I must say this was a very bad read. The characters were well developed and it was hard to believe that they would actually fall in love. a couple of weekends of sex does not produce life long love. It has an interesting premise that with more thought, time and development could have made for a good story.

I really enjoyed this book as it had most of what I like in a romance novel: a really hot couple (acutally it had two hot couples), ultra sensual love scenes that I nearly needed a shower after reading, and a bittersweet tale of long lost love redeemed, as well as a modern story of jungle fever.

Ms. Lee really knows how to tell a tale of love lost regained. I nearly cried with joy at the end when the "other" couple finally found peace with each other.

There are paranormal elements in the book including an absolutely delicious vampire I can't wait to read more about. This is my first book by Ms. Lee, but it won't be my last.

I did sort of enjoy the first novella but found myself wondering what might happen afterwards. The second novella started off well enough but as the book wore on, the story took an unexpected turn. These siblings were a little too freaky for my tastes. I was curious about the third story of the brother but I don't know. This book is very explicit and you will want something cold to drink while reading. If you want a hot book, then this is one to have. The story line could use a little more depth though.

The Talisman is a sweet (and steamy) story of two modern day lovers coming together despite their misgivings about doing so, and in they way in which they are able to lay to rest some family ghosts of theirs in the process. An intriguing story, I enjoyed seeing how Phillipe and Marie's story played out as much as how Cassie and Raven's did.

The Conquering of Mikael Dumont begins the Bloodlust series, and sets the stage well for what follows it. The expanded version of the tale has a lot more meat to it than the original short story did, and lets you get to know the characters a bit better. Mikael is a compelling character, that you may not always like or agree with, but one that can never be ignored or dismissed. I would have thought Erica would be a bit more adamant about using protection given the professional consequences she could face over an unplanned pregnancy, but I have to admit that even 40 year old women can be as prone to losing their heads in the heat of the moment as teenagers can be. Excellent start to an excellent series.

Destiny's Slave is apart of the Blood Lust series by Marilyn Lee it includes The Talisman and Conquering Mikhel Dumont.

Man.. after reading this book i was lead to purchase the 2nd book in the series.. and then lead to purchase the ebooks.

Once you read this series.. even 1 book.. you are hooked, This author has got pure unadulterated TALENT!!!

This book is broken out into two stories. I'm only going to discuss the first story because it was so wonderful and the other story wasn't all that interesting. But I would pay the same amount for the book, JUST for the first story.

I loved the main characters. They had amazing chemistry and the love scenes were phe-nom-i-nal! Seriously. I had to close the book and fan myself just to keep from overheating :)

Ms. Lee brought some southern style with supernatural fantasy to this novel creation and I liked it.
Keep em' coming Ms. Lee!

I was very dissapointed with this book. The sex scenes, though kinky are not sensual. The heroine talks like she's uneducated. The writer kept on and on with the taboos of interracial dating that after a while, it became uncomfortable. Why can't they be just 2 people in love other than a black woman and a white man in love? I can't recommend this to anybody.
