Editorial Reviews

From Booklist

Schaefer and DiGeronimo take a no-nonsense approach to sex (and AIDS), death, alcoholism, masturbation and other topics parents might otherwise choose to avoid--if only they could! Aimed at 4- to 12-year-olds, How to Talk is matter-of-fact and realistic without being hard-nosed; that is, it treats tough issues in a sensitive, helpful fashion. Jo Peer-Haas

This review is from: How to Talk to Your Kids About Really Important Things: Specific Questions and Answers and Useful Things to Say (Paperback)
As a mother of 3 small daughters and a prevention specialist, I thought this book was great. It gives easy, age appropriate answers for questions that parents may be uncomfortable answering because of the subject matter or lack of knowledge. It is a good way to start a conversation with your child.
