Sleeping Sun and Gravity ae both phenominal B-sides.
Setting Sun is beautifully layered and builds up into a huge number which must sound fantastic live. I can't help but compare Gravity to the richness of Pink Floyd.
Neither of these songs desearve to be B-sides and probably should have been held for their next album, or chosen instead of something off of X&Y.
my MAJOR gripe with this single however is the copywritting of it not allowing me to add it to my mp3 player. Regardless of having purchased the CD, I had to download it off of the internet so that I could listen as I walk.
because of that, a person will certainly reconcider purchasing the next single over downloading it.

Several single versions of Coldplay's "Talk" have been released to date, most which contain live tracks as B-sides.

However, you may not know it, but several club mixes of "Talk" have been made as well, and the track is fast becoming Coldplay's first real club hit. (A remix of "Clocks" also got some play in clubs but not to this extent.) While at first glance this may seem surprising it actually makes perfect sense. You see, the melody of "Talk" is actually sampled from Kraftwerk's 1983 electronic single "Computerlove".

The remixes of "Talk" are official mixes and have been promoted to clubs in both the U.S. and overseas. Thus far, I haven't seen any of the "Talk" remixes included on a the maxi single releases, but they may be included at some point. However, they are available on iTunes, and definitely worth purchasing.

The remixes promoted in the U.S. include the Junkie XL and Francois K mixes. Junkie XL has done a number of notable club remixes of rock tracks in the last couple of years. Their mix is outstanding - it maintains the beauty and emotional intimacy of the song but adds a distinctive "buildup" at the beginning and a strong rhythm underneath to bring it up to a whole new level.

The Francois K remix of "Talk" is a complete reworking of the song - bringing it more in style towards Kraftwerk's original "Computerlove". Very electronic, very "detached" - definitely quite an accomplishment but in my opinion not as good as the Junkie XL mix.

"Talk" will reach #3 on the Billboard Dance/Club Chart as of early March 2006.

I just got this today and there is only the Sleeping Sun song and the radio edit version of Talk. There is contradictory information on this page and, even though I would have bought it anyway, it was quite a disappointment when I opened it up and saw only one. :( Maybe there's a version out there with both b-sides, but I haven't found it yet. The Sleeping Sun song is great, of course.

Sleepless Sun and Gravity are two great Coldplay songs you can not get on Itunes, so if you like Coldplay you'll love these rarely heard songs.

I'm not a coldplay fan at all, but liked this song so much I had to have it. Unfortunately, I don't like the sound of the recording on the CD5. It sounds tinny and somehow mastered wrong. Maybe it's the copy protection, but it sure ruins a great song.

the song "Gravity". Slow,soft beat to it with beautiful lyrics. Sleeping Sun took me a while to get use to but it too is a nice song. X&Y's best B-side is Gravity, this coming from a guy who has about 20 other B-sides from Coldplay.

Talk, the third single from "X&Y", is absolutely excellent. If you're a big enough fan to consider buying this, you've probably already listened to Talk a lot since its June release. It's definitely a great song.

The b-sides are very much fit to contend with its counterparts from "Speed of Sound" and "Fix You". Sleeping Sun and Gravity are both fantastic. "Sleeping Sun" is probably the better of the two. It sounds more like something from Parachutes or Rush of Blood, but still goes well with the single. "Gravity" was written by Coldplay for the band Embrace who made it a big hit. Coldplay's version is just as good as the Embrace one.

All in all, a fantastic single. You should also pick up the 3CD Dutch Talk EP, which includes a lot of excellent live songs.

While mild Coldplay fans will probably appreciate "Talk" more amongst its album brethren on X & Y, I would highly recommend the two B-Sides on here "Gravity" and "Sleeping Sun" for more enthusiastic Coldplay fans. They're both great Coldplay songs, with good lyrics and catchy rhythms that would easily have fit into place on the full length X & Y album. The better of the two is probably "Sleeping Sun", which isn't the typical Coldplay song since it has a lot of percussion and acoustic guitar, and none of the usual synthesizers that back "Speed of Sound" and "Clocks". "Gravity" also has a commendable length for a B-side, breaching six minutes yet sounding just as fully time-taken as the band's album tracks and having a smooth and very mellow glide to it that makes it very approvable for Coldplay fans such as I. Overall this single is quite great, mainly for the B-sides but also for "Talk", which I'd definitely rank among the best of the tunes on X & Y. I would recommend the purchase of this single to any fans of the band out there, as well as fans of Keane due to the similarity of the bands. This CD is apparently copy-protected, but there are ways around that so don't be alarmed.
