This review is from: Talk Dirty Spanish: Beyond Mierda: The curses, slang, and street lingo you need to Know when you speak espanol (Paperback)
I would give this book a higher rating, but I think they did something on the last chapter that is unforgivable. They censored themselves! They printed out some Spanish phrases, then instead of translating them into English, they put "XXX: Too Dirty to Translate"
Hello, McFly! The book is called Talk Dirty Spanish! It's supposed to have the translations of all the filthy stuff, that's why you wrote it! People buy this book for various reasons, but mine was to avoid being embarrassed by saying the wrong thing at the wrong time, and if you read the book, you'll see that Spanish has some very odd, tricky sayings that you would not suspect. Censoring your own book! That really takes the cake! And by the way, it says "Uncensored" on the cover! That's a blatant lie!

This book is unique. I spent hours laughing at the literal translation to English. I'm a Spanish speaker living in the US and from now on I'll start using some of those translations in English, just to throw people off.
The book is not to be taken as a dictionary or some serious reference source. It's light-hearted and contains a chuckle in every page. At least. Congratulations to the authors.

Disregard the last person's comment on this book. Anyone who has studied in a Spanish country knows that swear words are a staple of every conversation. Even college professors and grandmas swear here. If you would like to understand what is being said around you... this book is an excellent tool!

This series of books gives you more than just dirty words and is a helpful way to learn dialectical differences in a particular language. It could be more thorough but is still a worthwhile addition to your library.

Book is about insulting comments and nasty remarks to other people. Unless you want to be the Don Rickles of Espanol, preserve su dinero.
