I must've read a different book...,
By Oh, Okay (VA) - See all my reviews

...because this book sucked! I finished reading just to be done with it hoping to reach the climax. There wasnt one. The storyline was okay, but this book was not written well at all. I actually put it in the trash so I would not accidentally pass it own to family members. I thought I had read books by the author, but if this is one of the best of her books, then I will not read her books in the future.

True love always prevails,

This boom, while about true love prevailing in the end, it focused on domestic violence. Nedra was being abused by this man whom she thought was in love with her and even though things were getting really bad at one point she refused to leave him and was determined that he was going to change and be a good man.
Her best friend, Donovan has always been in love with her and only wanted what was best for her even when she couldnt see it. The problem he faced was how was he going to convince the love of his life that she deserved better. while this story brought up some important topics, Nedra pissed me off in this book every time she went back to Simeon and it just upset me that she could be so naive. overall a good book

Started out OK but I found myself rolling my eyes and yelling at the book after a while,
By Mel "Mel" (Toronto, ON CANADA) - See all my reviews

The book started off OK, but the story was really a bit unbelievable. I had a difficult time identifying with any of the characters so I didn't feel happy or sorry for them as I read the book. I actually kind of hoped Donovon would move on and find someone else to fall in love with, since Nedra only seemed to have eyes for men with money and fame.
I also noticed there were a few inconsistencies throughout the book. There were 3 occasions where the author said one thing happened, and a few pages later it was said to have happened differently or not at all. For example, whether Simeon did or didn't know that Nedra was engaged at first, whether she threw his engagement ring back at him or had it sent back to him via FedEx, whether Donovon and Vivica broke up because of Nedra or because he was moving to Tennesee. I generally found the book to be very poorly edited. I also didn't like how the characters would CONSTANTLY refer to each other by name. If 2 people are alone in a house, they're not going to address each other by name in every second sentence when they're holding a conversation. I would not recommend this book, but I am open to reading other books by this author.

The book was an ok read, sometimes it amazes me how some people will stay in an abusive relationship, thinking they can change a person or that the abuse will never happen again. If someone love you, they shouldn't put their hands on you. If you are in an abusive relationship get out fast..

This book was off da hook, EXCELLENT!!!!!! I was so addicted to the story. Although, Nedra seemed to be acting stupid @ tymes, but she eventually came to her senses. Donovan was the perfect best friend anybody could've eva dreamed of. He was so caring, sweet and charming all @ the same tyme. And last but not least, Simeon was just plain out derranged. But I kinda figured something wasn't gone b right with him from da beginning. I've finally come to the conclusion that Darrien Lee is by far 1 of my favorite authors; if not my only and first choice. I have read ALL of her books ,and each tyme they definitely don't disappoint me. I am a true fan of her work. If this is ur first tyme reading any of her work, then you have to start from the beginning with, 'All that and a Bag of Chips'. Very good read once again, MS. LEE!!!!!!

Talk to the hand because you are no longer my man!,

I have read all of Darrien's novels and she has yet to disappoint me. The author created a strong story line that will have you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. Lust can be just as strong as love. But when a well established Lawyer won't take no for an answer, what's a woman to do. This is a face pace thriller that is sure to please.

I really enjoyed reading this book! It had a great plot and I absolutely loved the character Donovan! Nedra on the other hand was too naive and green for me,She just didnt get it and that really annoyed me.But overall it was a touching story and the ending was great .I just wasnt feeling the title or the book cover,That was kind of juvenile to me.No one says Talk to The Hand anymore, oh well just my opinion!
