Having been a fan of Joey since the way old days of NKOTB and his solo efforts, I must say that this cd will erase all notions that he is still a teeny bopper! His take on the old standards are all well orchestrated....his voice is smooth sounding and the production is very impressive! This cd should bring him more attention, credit, kudos and more fans! Way to go, J!!!!!!!!

In this latest album McIntyre pays homage to his boyhood idol Frank Sinatra. By finally recording an album of standards he also does his father proud! Long ago, in another life, Joey McIntyre was the baby faced member of THE original boy band, "New Kids on the Block". When that group parted ways after a decade of mega stardom Joey took time to return to his acting roots before returning to the record business. In 1999 he sealed his fate as a pop artist with a solo release that got air play across the country, sold well and put him back on the map and on our TV sets climbing the TRL charts. Subsequent albums did not get as much attention but "Talk to Me" puts him back on the map. McIntyre covers classics like "All the Way" and "My Funny Valentine" with ease. His respect for the music is tangible. Joey also takes a light hearted approach to tunes such as "Makin' Whoopee" and "Come Dance With Me" which are stamped with his unique sense of style. With this release, a whole new generation of listeners has a chance to embrace this sound! Long time fans will not be disappointed and new listeners will no doubt be pleasantly surprised. In my opinion this album is McIntyre at his best!

Wow! My partner has all Joey's solo cd's and he's been alright to me, but this cd of standards is really pleasing to listen to. Then we saw him live about a week or two after purchasing this cd. He was amazing! It was SO much fun to see him live. If you get a chance...don't miss it. You will NOT regret it.

The Music Joey Should Always Do!,

This review is from: Talk to Me (Audio CD)
You know, I have been a huge fan of Joey's since I was 11 and I have followed his solo career quite eagerly. I own his other albums, but I think this one is by far the best. This genre is so fitting to his style and voice. I absolutely LOVE it! It is fresh and new, but old style all at the same time. I really think Joey should sing this type of music all the time. I know that I would listen!
If you are a fan of his or new to his music, or even really love the old songs redone, I would highly recommend this CD. I would buy it again in a heart beat!

It's no secret that Joey McIntyre has been heavily influenced by Frank Sinatra and other crooners. This album is the high point of his career so far, in terms of quality and sound. His voice is flawless and the song choices are perfect. If you're looking for an album to put on for a romantic evening, or just to relax on your own and drift off to sleep with some Sinatra-styled lullabies, this is the one. Modern classics sung by someone who has studied the greats. This is in heavy rotation on my iPod and I definitely recommend it, McIntyre fan or not.

Big Band the way it should be done!,

I have been a fan of NKOTB since the beginning and therefore, of Joey. When at their recent reunion concert I picked up this CD because I love Big Band! The music is directly influenced by Joe's love for Frank Sinatra and in my humble opinion, he sounds better than Frankie any day (sorry Frankie fans). I hope to see another album like this from Joe and if I ever get to meet him face to face again, I'll tell him so! Joe's voice was made for this type of music and had he been born in a different era he would have no doubt been a headliner! If you love Big Band, this CD is for you, even if you have no idea who Joe is!
