I don't like the idea of her releasing albums year after year, it just makes her at risk of overexposure. Even I enjoyed a couple of songs on here, I still think GGGB and Loud were better but I find myself listening to it more than Rated R. There's nothing absolutely groundbreaking and innovating about TTT. It's merely an album filled with dated, catchy dance pop songs. Nothing more or less. People like to exaggerate and compare TTT to Erotica in which I find it to be a masterpiece. TTT is miles and miles away from Erotica. The constant theme I get from this one is love and sex. Not to mention the song titles are a dead giveaway...we found love, drunk on love, we all want love, and fool in love. It doesn't show much musical growth for Rihanna. Nowadays, that seems to be the norm these days. No one wants an album with substance, they would rather listen to the ones make them drop it like it's hot.
1. you da one (4.5/5)-i like this song alot.
2. where have you been (4/5)-a very typical dance tune but i prefer this over we found basic
3. we found love (3/5)-this song has been seriously overhyped and i for one will never consider it a classic in my eyes. it's extremely basic. i never got the appeal with this song.
4.talk that talk (4.5/5) -it's pretty hot.
5. cockiness ( i love it) (4/5)-it's catchy at times..yet annoying. i can easily see it as a people's favorite. i like the "suck my cockiness and lick my persuasion" part other than that..the song doesn't have much going on for it other than the redundant chorus and the incoherent noise in the background. it's a grower.
6. birthday cake (3/5)-this song feels so unnecessary and insignificant to the rest. adds absolutely nothing to the album. 1) it's too short. 2) it's generic, weak, and repetitive. it should either be kept as an interlude or not be included at all.
7. we all want love (3.5/5)-it's a nice song with a message behind it and it gives me a 60s/hippie vibe, but I felt completely bored at times. it's not good enough to make me wan to listen to it again. i don't feel hyphed enough so it leaves me feeling very dry.
8. drunk on love (4/5)- her singing is so on point. the song talks about the side effects of love.
9. roc me out (4/5)- it does remind me of the rated r era. everytime i listen to this song, i could just picture her performing in a grace jones outfit with dark shades
10. watch n' learn (4.5/5)-i love old school reggae and this song takes me back to that. i enjoy listening to these kind of cutesy songs including say it
11. farewell (4/5)- a very decent ballad with substance. the most relatable song on the album. it's very low key and soft.
12. red lipstick (5/5)-in my opinion the BEST on the album. i've been listening to it constantly. the metallica sample and the hardcore lyrics gives the song an edge. i always feel in tune with this song. it should have been on the standard edition.
13. do ya thang (5/5)-this one sounds really different from the rest. i really like the way she sings in this song. for some reason, it takes me back to the 90s. i also think this should have been on the standard edition.
14. fool in love (4/5)-only song on the deluxe i'm not too crazy about it. it's like stupid in love pt. 2
