5.0 out of 5 stars Hot Texas Blues, January 18, 2011
This review is from: Talk To You By Hand (MP3 Download)
Speaking of White Texas Blues guitar, those are the names: Johnny Winter, Billy Gibbons, Jimmie and Stevie Ray Vaughan and of course, Anson Funderburgh. In terms of style, the twin brother of Jimmie V, as a matter of fact, the first records of Anson and the Rockets (with the great Darrell Nulish) and the three first of the Fabulous Thunderbirds, seem milk brothers. Heavily influenced by Albert Collins, B.B.King and Lightning Hopkins, Anson Funderburgh keep playing the blues like it has to be played, mean and lean, right to the bone. No fussion, no confussion. The real deal.

Extremely recommended, along with Sins (1987)and Rack'Em up (1989)

4.0 out of 5 stars RED HOT MAMA, February 8, 2002
This review is from: Talk to You (Audio CD)
From the school of Butterfield, Mayal and Upchurch, this artist - Anson Funderburgh - provided the roots for others that followed. Guitarists like Steve Ray Vaughn and Santana have borrowed heavily from Anson. Check out Red Hot Mama on the album and you will see what I mean.

This Album, issued in 1981 is a must have for the serious collector....
