5.0 out of 5 stars Loved this book
I loved this book and it was a very quick read. In fact, I couldn't put it down. I'm not sure if it's suitable for young children who are ill, only because I'm not sure how much they would comprehend. As an adult, it was fascinating. I've read quite a few books on NDE studies, testimonials and the afterlife. This book was written from a different perspective,...

I'm not sure if it's suitable for young children who are ill, only because I'm not sure how much they would comprehend. As an adult, it was fascinating. I've read quite a few books on NDE studies, testimonials and the afterlife. This book was written from a different perspective, obviously, and may offer comfort to any young adult facing a terminal illness.

A must-read for people of all ages - for those who are in 'the pit of despair', for those who are seeking to make some sense of the world, but most especially for those parents/care-givers with sick children, sick spouses or elderly loved ones, - in fact, for any person undergoing any form of suffering in any way.

Oops, I forgot to add my recommendation for a better alternative book for kids facing life-limiting and life-threatening illness, as well as for their siblings and friends. This story completely transcends it's publication date (1984) making it a timeless NDE children's classic. :o) My sons enjoyed listening to the tape version of this book until they were pre-teens when they began reading adult NDE narratives. If the tape is not availlable at Amazon, check for it at www.IANDS.org.
