I love this book! I just received it this past week and let me tell you I don't know what I did without it! 3.0 out of 5 stars Talking Dirty W/ the Queen of Clean
This book provides a source for finding specific remedies for your cleaning needs. It does not read like a book, but is more useful if you have a particular type of stain, and need a quick reference.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is my cleaning bible!, October 16, 2000
I love this book! I just received it this past week and let me tell you I don't know what I did without it! I have always heard of the cleaning properties of baking soda, vinegar and lemon juice but never knew how to mix these concoctions to make a cleaning solution. The queen gives you those recipes, plus so much more! The tips that are provided in this book are wonderful and quick. I have already saved over $25.00 from NOT throwing things out because I used the tips in her book (2 shower curtains and a Rubbermaid dishrack were salvaged thanks to the queen). Plus, I was able to clean the bathroom in my bedroom to look so fabulous I couldn't believe it! Thanks to this book, I didn't have to regrout my bathtub, and the regimine was so simple! I got rid of so many cleaning solutions that I hated using anyway! Even though there are many things I would much rather do than clean house, this book has opened my eyes to short cuts and natural ways of cleaning. I don't mind getting my hands dirty if I don't have to use harsh abrasives (please note - there are a couple of mixes in the book that will encourage you to wear gloves and work in a well ventillated area, but only a couple and they are well worth it). I told a friend of mine about this book and she went out and purchased it; I showed my mom this book and she was impressed! I am so grateful that Ms. Cobb has shared her knowledge with us - my house looks so much better in a short amount of time! If you are a busy person like me... I highly recommend this book not only to get your house in gear but to save you time and money! Best book I ever bought!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great tips for cleaning., August 30, 2000

I really like the book Talking Dirty with the Queen of Clean. I have used several of Mrs. Cobbs methods to clean my kitchen and my bathrooms and with my husband, brother-in-law and three little boys running around I need all the help I can get. I would recommend this book for anyone with a big household with lots of boys(guys) who don't know how to pick up or clean up after themselves. The disenfecting tips are great for the bathroom where they are needed most in my home. I never would of thought to use this stuff to clean with. There are tips for all over the house. This book is a life saver. I live sixty-five miles from a grocery store and have a lot of the items used as cleaners on hand that are used in this book. Mrs. Cobb has a lot of great tip for cleaning items from baby clothes to shop oil spills. This is a all aroung great book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Brand New Book To Help You Keep It Clean !, September 23, 2000
Linda Cobb is really one of the clean-up gurus that can help you easily and quickly clean virtually everything you own. This new 160 page gem of a book shows you how to spruce up (and keep clean) all kinds of things. Not only that, but you can do it with stuff you already have sitting around your house, or can easily and inexpensively obtain. Her techniques are easy to accomplish and the results are fast. In our house we found out quickly what couuld be done with a lot of the things we had in the house and garage. By using vinegar, car wax, lemon juice, baking soda, detergents, rubbing alcohol, Tang, and even denture cleaning tablets, miracles were accomplished. Wow ! We actually did some of these things the first day we got the book. Whether you need help with your shower, tile, faucets, toilets or other bothersome things, her tips make the work simple and easy. Topics are easily located in the book, another time-saver. This book is a great value at $ 8.09. It'll save you plently in time and money. It's an inexpensive gift that your friends will appreciate, even those that it's difficult to buy for. It's something that every home owner or apartment dweller can use, male or female, married or single. We gave a copy to our newly married daughter, and she immediately found useful hints and put it to work. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Queen of Clean rules our household, September 13, 2000
By
"Talking Dirty with the Queen of Clean" has become my bible. I had the chance to have the Queen of Clean come to my house for an Oprah segment,we were the stain family, and she was amazing. Her solutions to household cleaning is great. I have three small children who make big messes so the Queen of Clean's book is always nearby ready to help solve all my problems. Everyone that I have told about the book have been on there way to get one as soon as they look through it. The cleaning solutions are as suprising as they are useful. This is a must have book for everyone. I only wish I had had one earlier.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good - and good FOR you, April 25, 2002
By

Forget Martha. Forget Heloise. Forget the scary perfectionistic tomes on how to keep house. This is the book that has changed my life, cleaning-wise. If this book can't solve your worst cleaning problem, nothing will. I had tried an increasingly evil-sounding succession of expensive products to get the hard-water scum off my shower door. What finally worked? The vinegar-and-water solution in this book. I thought the grayish patches in my tub were there to stay until I followed the Queen of Clean's suggestion of... borax. I got months of burned-on food off my cooktop with the Queen's laughably simple scouring powder. Not only is my house cleaner than it ever has been, but I also threw out my toxic cleaning products, and I even feel better about myself: it turns out I wasn't a slob, I just wasn't using the right equipment to clean.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cleaning made easy and cost-effective too!, December 1, 2000

Mark Piske (farmers branch, texas USA) - See all my reviews
These solutions to household cleaning are really great. One should always keep this book handy to solve your cleaning problem needs, especially around the holidays with children in unfamiliar family homes. The solutions are useful, easy and cost effective too! It's a good way to avoid expensive professional cleaning services, and to just stay sane while trying to keep your house looking the way you know it should without spending all day doing it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Has just about everything i was looking for, October 9, 2000
I saw Ms.Cobb on Oprah & i had to have this book.I ordered one for myself & one for my sister. It will save you money by telling you how to make cleaners for yourself & time by telling you exactly how to get a stain out.A tip i found very useful was the one for the oven. How many times have you been cooking & what you are cooking begins to run out of the pan?It then begins to burn, smoke & stink up the whole house. She says to quickly pour salt completely over the spill,it will stop burning & smoking. You can keep right on cooking, later when the oven is cool, simply scoop it out.The only thing i could not find was how to get the smell of cigarette smoke out of something.I have recently been given some picture frames that have been around a smoker & i cant get the smell out. :( Its a great book from scuffs,to rust, pet stains, burn marks, gum, strecthing shoes, leather, mildew, etc everyone can find use for this tried and true book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cleaning up was never this funny before!, November 10, 2000
By
"wholden" (Phoenix, AZ United States) - See all my reviews
I must confess, cleaning was never my idea of recreation or, heaven forbid, even fun, but this book has changed my mind. I've seen the Queen on television in Phoenix and she is wonderful! The book captures her warm and engaging personality perfectly. It is funny, full of insights and "why didn't I think of that" ideas. Tang in the toilet? Using a dryer sheet to remove baked on casserole gunk? Fantastic. As I am proving every day, even a man can use these tips! Great job, Queen of Clean. When are you going to do a book on laundry????

5.0 out of 5 stars Long Life the Queen - of Clean!, December 5, 2000
By
offeck (New York, NY -- United States of America) - See all my reviews
I'm a 20 year old college student and, no matter how odd this title (and cover) may look on my shelves of science and liberal art books, I refer to this more than any of the rest! An added bonus is that I don't have to pick up the phone and call Mom everytime I have a question that (previously) only she could answer. Applicable to any age and lifestyle, you'll probably never need another better book on this topic!
