The entire family had a lot of fun playing with this game, but after 2 weeks of use few of the buttons stop working.I don't recommend to pay $50 for a toy that is going to last for just 2 weeks.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good begining set June 13, 2009

The talking chess trainer is a good first chess board although it doesn't say much at all . You would be better off buying the regular chess trainer for less money and skip the 3 , or so, phrases that it says. But if you want a long term game that will grow with you (if you plan to study) i would shop around some . Novag has a good line of machines with wooden pieces and stronger programming and faster response time. Although Saitek and Mephisto have that too.

Good idea but doesn't seem very durable. Must make sure you press down the pieces hard to make contact with the board sensors. Think this is for 13 and above crowd.
