3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed, July 9, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Talking to Fairies (Hardcover)
I ordered this book to find myself disappointed in the illustrations. I assumed that the illustrations would match the illustration on the front cover. The drawings are merely black and white. The stories are just fine however, but it was the faery artwork that I was looking for.

5.0 out of 5 stars A lovely book for young readers!, October 30, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Talking to Fairies (Hardcover)
The book buyer below made the mistake of thinking this was an art book. It isn't -- it's a guide to fairy lore from around the world, written in a clear, simple text that children can understand and enjoy. I gave it to a couple of fairy-loving six year olds, and they adored it! They learned a lot about fairies, and it set their imaginations soaring. What I like about the book as an adult, however, and as a student of folklore, is that this isn't an "airy fairy" book, it's well grounded in world folklore and myth. Thank you, Ms. Jeffries, for publishing this charming little book.
