2.0 out of 5 stars a little disappointing
This book was highly recommended by a friend. I found the topic highly interesting and this book's earlier reviews made it very promising. However, I was disappointed. A lot of nice stories but no clue how to incorporate the concepts into daily life. I was disappointed. The book is a nice introduction to listening, but not much more than that.

5.0 out of 5 stars Open Mind, January 7, 2009

If you're not open to new ideas/alternative ways of seeing life then this book is not for you. But if read with an open mind I am sure that you will take something of use to you from this book. Before I read "Talking with Nature and Journey into Nature" I read "Getting There" by the same author which I would also rate highly. If you like(d) Richard Bach then you'll like Michael Roads.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing revelations, April 26, 2010
By
This review is from: Talking with Nature and Journey into Nature (Paperback)
In these two marvelous books Michael J. Roads provides a key to understanding the essence of nature, Self, and to spiritual development. In the first, Talking with Nature, he introduces the reader to his gift of communicating with all forms of nature - trees, rocks, the river. In the second book, Journey into Nature, Michael meets Pan, the God of Nature, who guides him to the next step, or steps, where he integrates with the spirit of Water, Plant, Mineral and Animal and experiences the truth of the often-quoted "adage", that we all are One. After having read these books and realized the true nature of life, the reader takes a giant step forward in spiritual understanding.

A definite must have for every personal library as it is one of those spiritual, (not religious),books filled with one persons spiritual walk to enlightment. The author doesn't try to convert you but simply shares his experience which opens the way for you to find your own path. This book is very self affirming.

5.0 out of 5 stars Inspirational!, September 11, 2009

If you are at all open to the possibility of communicating directly with Nature, plants, animals, and even stones, you will probably love this book as I did. It is actually two books combined into one. The first is about the author learning to listen to the various voices of Nature, and the second is the story of his developing relationship with Pan, the god of Nature.

Since I have had similar experiences, I can easily accept the premise that we can all learn to communicate with Nature. Though these are not "how to" books, they provide the first step in the process. First we must believe it is possible. Then we have to let go of our beliefs and expectations and simply listen. Then we have to trust what we "hear." We have an entertaining window into this process in the books of Michael Roads.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Introduction to Other Aspects of Reality, September 1, 2006

This review is from: Talking with Nature and Journey into Nature (Paperback)
I really enjoyed these books, especially the second book "Journey into Nature". Even though the 1st book is a bit slower moving, it's important in that it journals MR's spiritual process. I have had some similar experiences and it's nice to find others who can relate. I hope to experience some of the more intense metaphysical events he describes one day, although in some ways I probably have more in common with his wife, Treenie.

There is a lot of metaphysical truth to be found in this book and you should definitely try to get "Journey into Oneness" which is awesome and continues his journey.

5.0 out of 5 stars In Perfect Timing!, January 23, 2012

I discovered Michael Roads' books in the Omega Institute's bookstore while attending a worship there in the early 90s. I was very attracted to them, because I was just opening to my skills in telepathic animal communication. Two years later, I attended Michael's workshop at Omega and had profound experiences. These two books started my relationship with Michael's teachings. I highly recommend them for anyone whose mind is beginning to open to things beyond our five senses.

5.0 out of 5 stars Journey Beyond the Scientific Views, January 17, 2012
The first book to read of Michael Roads of his journey beginning beyond the scientific views into the metaphysical realm of Nature. For anyone seeking an understanding of how to connect to Nature thus to one's True Self. Further shows we are all interconnected in the web of Life. Michael Roads not only brings forth inspiration, but the essence of Nature evolving collectively. The same be said for us as shown by Michael Roads on his own personal journey with Nature; we too are evolving individually. Michael Roads captivating journey is carried forth in the sequence of the following books "THROUGH THE EYES OF LOVE, JOURNEYING WITH PAN, BOOK ONE" and "BOOK TWO". These three books are recommended by Michael Roads himself to read in succession as wellas by me. They show Michael Roads's deepening relationship with Pan, Being of Oneness with All, God of Nature is one aspect, into the metaphysical realm of Nature including us. Meaning the relationship our society has with Nature in the past, and present. How our own energies impact on Nature, including personal level for example having a pet, is quite an eye opener to say the least. On Nature it is not just only on the physical level of degradation and pollution, but our energies have same impact as well.
Personally, I am on my own journey with Nature as a source to find my True Self and Oneness. I am moved and inspired by what Michael Roads has done on his own journey, hoping to reach the same relationship with Nature.
