Ever wonder what screen legends, writers and bandleaders of yesteryear were really thinking? We confide in our priests or counselors. They confided in their piano players and other show-biz cronies. The author of this book was in a unique position for such confessions, and he shares them with us in this beautifully-written book. We read about such folks as Artie Shaw, Tallulah Bankhead, Ann Miller, Joan Blondell, and Lou Jacobi. I really enjoying reading the inside scoop on these people, realizing now that some weren't at all like their images.
