This is a great product for the vehicle ~ Keeps them busy in the back seat. Ours has been dropped many times and it always comes back "Hooked On Phonics Smart Stick....choose a letter" This has many modes for learning about letter sounds and letter recognition; reinforcing each other. Wonderful educational toy and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

My daughter has all three of the smart sticks (letters, numbers, and colors/shapes) and they are IDEAL toys. They have several settings that play a song, tell her about what button she pushed (this is a - ), or ask her to find a letter/number/shape/color. They also have a switch for english or spanish. My daughter LOVES these and has learned everything on them at a much younger age than I would have expected her to. HIGHLY RECOMMEND for anyone who believes in educational toys. Also very durable, they frequently get dropped with no issues and even got run through the washer and worked again when dried out.

I bought this for my 2yo son after he learned to match numbers with the Numbers Talking Stick. This is a good toy to introduce and recognize letters. The voice that makes each letter sound isn't very clear, so I'm hoping he'll just ignore that part and it doesn't have an adverse effect on his learning the letter sounds. For the most part, this is a good toy to introduce letters and help children begin to learn to recognize them.
