Great Fairy Tale book!! I Love reading it to my children.
An excellent fairy tale book. I read it to my two year old. The stories are true to their original versions and the illustration is wonderful to assist with the child's imagination. I only wish there were more stories in it like Snow White, etc. I highly recommend this book.

Changed/Not the same
If you grew up with the 1944 edition of "The Tall Book of Nursery Tales," like I did, you may be disappointed. Just a glance at the Table of Contents for both books shows that, while the name is the same, the books aren't. When this new book was compliled more than a few of the original stories were left out, and several new ones added in their place. If you have never...

If you grew up with the 1944 edition of "The Tall Book of Nursery Tales," like I did, you may be disappointed. Just a glance at the Table of Contents for both books shows that, while the name is the same, the books aren't. When this new book was compliled more than a few of the original stories were left out, and several new ones added in their place. If you have never seen the original and just like the stories, then it is still a good book. However, if you are looking for a nostalgic replacement of the original, then this isn't it.

We have several collections of fairy tales and this book is my younger children's favorite. It is full of details that draw the children in and it is a great value for the money. If you are choosing between this and "A First Book of Fairy Tales", this one is a much better pick.
