Hot Enough to Melt Snow!, October 7, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Tall, Dark and Daring (Temptation, 897) (Mass Market Paperback)
OMG! I loved this book! Tessa and Mitch's fun banter and sizzling chemistry fire every page hot enough to melt the snow off its Adirondack Mountain setting. What a stellar debut year for Joanne Rock with five winner releases already. I'm eagerly checking the calendar for this prolific (and fabulous <g>) new author's next book!

A sensual treat -- Very highly recommended, October 3, 2002
This review is from: Tall, Dark and Daring (Temptation, 897) (Mass Market Paperback)
A dare brings Tessa O'Neal full circle. Her boss and best friend bets that Tessa cannot stay out of Mitch Ryder's bed for a week while she takes care of his marketing campaign. Mitch was Tessa's first love and the man she compares all others to, which might account for one divorce and one broken engagement. Now Tessa returns to the beautiful Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York, the site of her first love, to prove her resistance to the man she thinks of as aphrodisiac on legs. After all, Tessa figures she can survive Mitch's appeal for seven days. Eight years ago Mitch had no intentions of offering Tessa forever. He doesn't intend forever now. After all, he isn't the kind of guy she really wants. Now Mitch needs Tessa's marketing finesse to make Mogul Ryders' new product line a success, although he doubts Ms. Trench Coat and Heels still retains that adventuresome spirit that brought them together. Nevertheless, Mitch intends to complete the business side of their relationship and then recapture that chemistry they once shared, at least temporarily. Then he learns she only plans to stick around a week, which raises the stakes considerably. Author Joanne Rock sets off an inferno when she reunites old flames in TALL, DARK, AND DARING. Rock proves that just seven days can transform lives. Mitch's salesman skills matches Tessa's own as he teaches her to have fun again, but the consequences defy his expectations. Tessa's gradual relaxing as she catches snowflakes and savors bobsledding reveals an enticing exuberance that makes her an incredibly engaging character. Moreover, The author's savvy understanding of the need for compromise in modern relationships makes the novel sparkle, even as Rock deftly reveals the sensual longings, the secret wounds, and the hidden desires of a couple who has buried their secret needs. A sensual treat, TALL, DARK, AND DARING comes very highly recommended.

fun second chance at love romance, September 29, 2002
This review is from: Tall, Dark and Daring (Temptation, 897) (Mass Market Paperback)
After assigning her the Mogul Ryders marketing campaign, her Westwood Marketing boss Ines Cordova bets Tessa O'Neal that she cannot stay out of Mitch Ryder's bed for a week. Ines knows it is a sure bet because she has heard enough times how Tessa measures all males against her yardstick, Mitch, her first love. No one including an ex husband and the nice Rob she just ended her engagement to has come close to living up to Tessa's memory of Mitch though he deserted her. Tessa plans to do the job and escape Lake Placid, New York with her soul and heart intact because she knows based on what happened eight years ago that Mitch cannot commit. Mitch anticipates sharing sex once they finish his business requirement though he also plans to split as he did once before. However, when he learns she intends to stay for only a week with no sex, he elevates the game of love. Readers will enjoy reading the heated TALL, DARK, AND DARING, a fun second chance at love romance. The story line emits heat through Mitch even as Tessa tries to avoid being burned again. Though readers might not like Mitch's cavalier approach to relationships, the audience will agree that Joanne Rock paints a compelling realistic look at modern day coupling. Harriet Klausner
