Book Description

Being the Greek god of love doesn't mean you believe - or want - anything to do with that sappy emotion. Sure, Eros runs his matchmaking business, Made in Heaven, but finding his own love has never been part of the equation. When he spots the sweet baker who works across the street, he vows to match her with someone else before she can stir his sullen heart.

Annie Landon has given up on finding Mr. Right. What she needs is Mr. Right Here, Right Now, and this so-called "Greek God" she's heard is on the rebound sounds like the perfect distraction. But picking up the bitter workaholic is easier said than done...especially when he seems unreasonably determined to match her with someone else.

Can a woman looking for love, and the matchmaking god who wants her to find it with someone who isn't him, have a shot at a happy ending? May the best god - or mortal - win!

Editorial Reviews

Review

This new twist on Greek mythology is modern and hip, with a playful tone that is reminiscent of the early Dark-Hunter books. Fun and original, the cast of secondary characters will make the reader hope this is just the beginning. The integration of mythology into the human world is extremely well done, and the comedic elements are not over the top in any way. Anna Dougherty, RT Book Reviews

A cute, romantic comedy with plenty of heat and sizzle. Jenna Bennett did a fantastic job of bringing the Greek gods and goddess to life and placing them in modern society. I loved how she placed them in jobs that perfectly fit with their deity descriptions. This was a fun, quick read that I highly recommend. Cheryl Beal, Fresh Fiction

This hilarious romantic comedy was one that I finished within a day and I still wish there was more to read! Jess, From Me To You Reviews

I loved this book from the first page till the last. The story was so well written and flowed so smoothly I can't rave about it enough. I'm giving Tall Dark and Divine 5 out of 5 it's one of the best books I've read this year. Confessions from Romaholics

The witty banter and sizzling romance is all that's needed for the story to be highly recommended. Bennett's flowing writing style and ability to engage readers right from the start just adds to the reasons why Tall, Dark, and Divine will become a reader's favorite mythological romance. Lovey Dovey Books

There are no words to explain how much I loved this book....  it has everything. Drop dead gorgeous Greek Gods who are totally drool worthy and heart-stopping romance. This is without a doubt a must-read for any romance and mythology fan. K-books

From the Back Cover

Eros, Greek god of love, has been down and out since ex-wife Psyche called him a workaholic and ran off with a Viking warrior with more brawn than brains. Drowning his sorrows in ambrosia-laced wine doesn't make him feel better, nor does the nagging of the assorted minor and demi-goddesses helping him run his New York based matchmaking service.

When a misguided attempt to set up cute and lonely baker Annie Landon goes awry, Eros lends her his shoulder to cry on - not to mention a few other parts of his anatomy to take her mind off things. But falling for yet another mortal is the last thing Eros needs. Been there, done that, and not about to do it again.

Thus begins his quest to win the heart of a mortal man for Annie, a feat which will also rid him of the maddening desire to keep her for himself. It's the perfect plan ... if only Eros can bear to let Annie go.

5.0 out of 5 stars To err is human, to Eros is divine August 3, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
It's no secret that I love Jenna Bennett's writing. I adored her New York Times bestselling DIY mystery series for Berkley (written as Jennie Bentley), and the real estate mystery series was good fun, too. So when I heard she was writing a paranormal romance, I thought well...
Tall Dark, and Divine is just as fun and flirty as Bennett's mysteries, with great dialogue and characters you'd love to meet in real life.
I'm a big fan of Greek mythology, so pair that with a light romance, and great writing and I'm hooked!
Eros is to die for, and my favorite character of Bennett's to date. Annie is relate-able with her insecurities, and few extra pounds, and totally loveable. The characters in this novel jump off the page and into your heart.
I'm not big on reading romance, so when I was asked to read this, I hesitated, I mean really, how good could a mystery writer be at writing romance. Well, Bennett knocked my socks off. I'm hoping she makes this into a series, as I'd love to see a story revolving around Dion.
Greek gods and modern romance, bring it on. I'm ready for more.

4.0 out of 5 stars I look forward to more of this series... July 25, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Being a huge fan of paranormal books, especially those featuring Greek mythos, I had to pick this one up.

I'm glad I did. The story of Eros and a human woman was a fun read. She was easily identifiable--from her cute red shoes to her insecurities. He was everything you would want in a God of Love.

The one complaint I have, and it isn't much of one, was that the ending seemed a little rushed and almost like the author ran out of space to finish telling the story. I wanted the hea, and this one satisfied, but it just seemed like someone called time and it was all wrapped up too fast.

It isn't much of a complaint, though, as I mentioned since the voice of the author, the premise and the snarky fun made it well worth the ride. The steamy sexy scenes? In this case just awesomesauce on an already appealing sundae.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great but fast paced August 17, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I really enjoyed this book and the romance took it to a five star. The book was a little fast paced which is a new comment for me because my complaint is usually the opposite. The whole book took place in a few days and that normally is a good thing. But the meeting of the main couple to the sleeping with to the marriage all happened in those days. So it was a head turner. The main characters of Ross (Eros) and Annie were so endearing and the secondary characters added to the story well. Ross has lost his touch with understanding women because he takes them at face value. Dion and Ari were so cute I know my mythology and Dionysus did in fact marry Ariadne according to most accounts so I can't wait for their story.
