Editorial Reviews

Review

"I have yet to find a more comprehensive and well presented book on the subject, and at the price it should well be within the reach of just about every tall ship enthusiast. It's an absolute must": if you can't afford it right now, put it at the very top of your Christmas list." -- Tall Ship International, June/July 1997

"With each color photograph on each page, Thad Koza's collection of the world's most majestic sailing vessels will undoubtedly take its place in the librairies of sail aficionados. From old fighting ships like the USS Constitution, to the Russian training ship Sedov, which is the largest sailing vessel afloat, the hardcover book includes scantlings and a description for each of the 150 featured ships" -- Ocean Navigator, May/June 1997 --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Unique Collection, April 9, 2001
By
This review is from: Tall Ships (Hardcover)
This book offers a unique and close to encyclopeadic collection of pictures and details of the currently sailing tall ships around the world. Having sailed on a few and seen many more whilst sailing in both Europe and the UK I found pretty well all of them in here.

Thad is a reknowned photographer of the tall ships and has been for many years. This collection brings all of that together in one place with the usual quality and understanding of his subject matter that you would expect.

I was particularly fortunate to meet the author and get a signed copy during The Tall Ships Race 2000...and no it is not for sale!:-)

This review is from: Tall Ships (Hardcover)
This book is a decent book, but it only gives a brief look at each sailing ship. There are photos of each ship, then probably between 1 and 2 paragraphs discussing each ship. I had hoped there would be a bit more meat and potatoes to this book, but from the appearance, it's all garnish...
