It is years since I discovered new subtle and intelligent music like this. Markel is sort of a mix of Prefab Sprout and Tears for Fears on the lyric/song side but blends that with musical style that reminds of Steely Dan and Pages, sometimes even early Genesis but a lot more bare bone and explicit.

Music for musicians I would say.

Really liked the album. If you like Jeff Buckley, you will like this. Lyrics and melodies and songs that stick in your head. I highly recommend it.
