Easy access to Talmud,

This edition is perfect if your not too hot on your aramaic. It has a clear lay out and a good translation. It provides an easy to follow english version with the hebrew layed out along side and tries its best to keep the style and order of the original.

The tractate Taanit is a particularly rich one .This translation will enable the English only , or English- primarily reader to get a general sense of it. However real Jewish learning must be done as communal study . And the reader is recommended to connect with a Jewish communal framework , to find those most learned and to learn with them.
I would also say that there is no substitute for learning in the original Hebrew- Aramaic. But this present translation can be of help to those whose English is stronger than their Hebrew. As for those without much Hebrew at all this volume can give a start in learning a world which otherwise would be closed.
