Once I began reading this book, I couldn't put it down. It pulls you through harrowing experiences, terrorists carrying out sadistic attacks on innocent civilians, and threatening to initiate a nuclear war if their demands to take over the government of Turkey are not met within 5 days. Then TALON Force, a special forces group of 6 men and 2 women are sent to locate the group and eliminate the danger. The novel is filled with violent action, the latest weaponry and technology, suspense, tension and danger. It is amazingly prophetic in that it mentions Omar bin Laden as one of the terrorist group's sponsors, even though the book was published before Sept. 11, 2001! A bonus: the views of various parts of Turkey and Turkish culture. Fascinating. A good read.

I have been trying to find this book for many years, as you can see when it was written. I purchased it and read it immediately. This was impossible to put down. I find "Dire Straits" to be the best of the entire series I have read. He did one excellent job. KUDOS!

This book was prophetic, unfortunately. I can't get over what a page turner it is. I think I told everyone I know to read this.

I can't help but feel that had this been looked at seriously by the "powers that be," perhaps we might have been in better shape than we were on Sept. 11, 2001. Obviously, I am not suggesting that the author had any information about this catastrophe; it appears he has insight into the terrorist's mind. He is knowledgeable about the workings, and mental processes, of the type of persons who create and enable terror. The author has a brilliant clarity about his subject, both Profound and startling.

Shortly after the shock of that "DAY' unfolded, I recalled his book.

The author really outdid himself. I just wanted you to know how exceptional I found this piece of work.
