I bought this product for my neice. It was a big hit, she loves it.

I got this because I remebered my virtual pet from the -90's (it started as an egg, graduated to a tadpole and eventually grew up to be a frog so you could play "Frogger" on the thing!) and wanted to have another. It is a great toy to test your skills. I like the fact that you can put it in "pause" when you don't have that much time to interact with it. I do wish the design on the outside of it actually WAS a frog as the little creature, instead of just a Japanese character. It would have been nice to think of it as a growing thing, not just as a gameboy.
It also annoys my friends, so that is another plus. I don't use the infrared feature to talk to other Tamagotchis, but if I had a friend that also had a unit, I would probably use it.
