A Kid's Review
This review is from: Tamagotchi (Game Cartridge)
I think that the Tamagotchie is a great, virtual game for kids, like me to have. People who are allergic to animals, can experience having pets with a Tamagotchie. There are loads of fun. You can feed them, and bathe them when they go "do their work" You can scold them when they do something wrong, and watch them go through stages. You'll notice they'll begin to grow, when they change form, or shape. They can die, when you don't look after them, and when you look in their profile, it will tell you how old they are, when they were born, how much they weigh, and what their status is.

Plenty of fun if you're Patient!, December 27, 1999

I don't know why this toy is getting such bad reviews. The Gameboy version is much better than the original toy! If you're patient enough to nurture your little pets, they'll grow into creatures that are energetic and willing to please. Once they mature, they don't become sick as easily, and become better at the games. In short, this game is not for those who like lots of action. If you have lots of time on your hands and don't mind having to wait, (there's a speed time option, to wake your pets early if you like) this game is a great way to pass the time.

If your a tamagotchi fan this is for you, September 26, 2004
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Tamagotchi (Game Cartridge)
This game brings a whole new way to play and raise your tamagotchi. Unlike in the real things you can train them to become smarter by studying with them and you can train them to be more athletic. Also you can raise 3 Tamagotchis at once making it triple the fun. You can change clock speed to have it go fast or slow and the game automatically saves everything you do so when you turn the game back on you see your tamagotchis exactly as you left them. This is much better than the original tamagotchis and is a must buy for tamagotchi fans.

from the origainal handheld pet to this!, December 5, 2005
A Kid's Review
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars

It all started with a Tamagotchi Connection V2. I immeadiatly fell in love with the little virtual critters. I then realized it would be hard to get batteries for it so I wanted this for my game boy, as we have rechargables. This is MUCH different then the handheld that I'm used to. When you first start it, you pick new game and go to the 'Egg Room'. There you pick one of the eggs. In the handheld you got what you got. After that you get to name the egg, unhatched of course. I beleive you can name it up to seven or so letters. Then you go to 'the playroom' and your egg hatches. Then you can feed it carrots, meat or bread for the life (hunger) meter or you can feed it cake or an ice cream sunday for fun (happiness) meter. Another way to fill the fun meter is the smile game. Your Tamagotchi will turn its head left, right, left, right, and so on. Your job is to press the right arrow when its head is turned right and the left arrow when its head is turned left. If you do this correctly four or five out of five times a heart gets filled on the fun meter. Play the sports game to up your ability to win at the sports tournament ( when your Tamagotchi is older it can enter race, beauty, or I think IQ tournaments). If it gets sick you must heal it with either shots or pills. When your Tamagotchi goes to the bathroom (leaves a pile of poo on the screen), you must use the duck icon to clean it up. The game's moving through icons is VERY responsive. One of the few problems I have with my game is it doesn't run on Earth time, but instead, 'Tamagotchi Planet time'. It's an okay game, but now the best.

A cute game!, July 8, 2001
This review is from: Tamagotchi (Game Cartridge)
Tamagotchi for Gameboy is a cute game for younger kids. It's very similar to the keychain-egg toys but have a few additional features. You can adopt up to 3 tamagotchis at a time. Your tamagotchis have to be fed, washed, and played with. You can play sports games to build strength or mind games to raise IQ. You can enter your tamagotchis in three different competitions, one for mind, one for body, and one for cuteness. When your tamagotchis get older, they will "evolve" into different shapes. You can even potty-train them! However, the game, like most digital/virtual pets, can get boring. If your tamagotchis' levels are high, you really have nothing to do until it beeps. This game has very few sounds, and since it is for regular gameboy and not gameboy color, the graphics are not very good. I recommend this game to all kids who liked the keychain tamagotchis. For other virtual pet games for gameboy, try Catz and Dogz.

Get this game!, March 29, 2006
A Kid's Review
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Tamagotchi (Game Cartridge)
I have a 1996 original tamagotchi, a V2 (version 2), a V3 (version 3) and now this game. People call me a tamagotchi addict. I agree with them! You should get this game because it is super fun. Let me tell you about all of the good things:
1. You get to raise up to 3 tamagotchis at once.
2. You can monitor the clock so it goes either fast, medium or slow. If you do fast, it will be an adult in one day or less. (Depends on how long you play with it)
3. When the tamagotchi is an adult you can have it compete in tournaments based of of strength, beauty and IQ.
4. If the tama dies you can go to the "egg room" which holds 8 eggs. Once all 8 eggs are used up you start a new game.
5. The game saves right when you turn it off.
6. There are 3 games to choose from: Study Game, Smile Game and Sports Game. The more you play the game the better they will be at that tournament.
7. When the tama/tamas go to bed you can fast forward the clock to make the night go faster until the tamagotchi wakes up.
8. There are a lot of cool characters like a dog and plant.
9. The game has terrific graphics!
10. It works either on a Gameboy Color or Gameboy Advance. (I haven't tried it on DS or SP.)
I hope you get this game. It is worth every penny. I love it! I rate it 15 out of 10! Have fun with the game!

I thought this little toy was really fun and I have no earthly idea why it only has a one star rating. When I first tried the toy it was a little boring, but then I started getting the hang of things and I was always trying to get my hands on another one. I think you should try the Tamagotchi virtual pet and enjoy it as much as I did.

-Tamagotchi Rock!, December 2, 2003
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Tamagotchi (Game Cartridge)
Tamagotchi are really cool. What it is, is a little alien that comes to earth. You hatch it then take care of it. You feed, clean up after, and play with it; you also have to "tuck it in" at night and give it injections(ew) when the poor darling is sick. The originals were very, very cool. They should really begin making them again, however, I believe you can find them at garage sales and stuff if you're fortunate and you can just go out and buy batteries for them so they work. I'm hearing this is an overall good game, but, I would try and find the originals. The originals are just oh so cute 0_-. Well, anyways, if you find an original Tama, go ahead and grab it! The originals are really great. Have fun Tama hunting!

A Kid's Review

This is the truth about good and bad parts of the game.
GOOD PARTS: The tamagotchi will grow into an adult in just one day if they are played with enough, the sound effects are kind of cute insteads of the beeping from the egg toys, there are more games to play, and there are some cool characters. BAD PARTS: The tamagotchi die after getting sick about six times, do be nice, some of the games are harder at the last level, and the characters don't have the same names they used to in the egg toy. TIPS: Play the left/right game to make them happy instead of using snacks, don't bring them to a place where you can't watch them properly, and don't worry about what character you get.
