after watching this video, i wanted to run out and start taking pictures so i could try out all the tips and tricks. it is so full of inspiring information...both technical and professional advice that is original and practical. the best part is the footage of her in actual shooting situations but she also gives really good post production and business tips. i would LOVE to attend one of tamara's workshops (which is why i got the video) but, in the meantime, this totally satisfies.

I HATE reading manuals and how-to guides. Technical jargon goes in one ear and out the other for me. But the way Tamara Lackey writes is so conversational, humorous and just fun that I WANTED to read the next page. I usually dread these types of books, but I have read this one 4 or 5 times. I now shoot on manual mode (go me!). I can honestly say that after reading Tamara's book, otherwise esoteric technical concepts "clicked" for me (pun intended) and I am fairly well-versed in the basics of photography.

This DVD gave so many great tips and pointers for the aspiring photographer and/or someone who just simply wants to take better photos of their children. Very well made and never a dull moment. Worth the $200 since I can't afford to attend one of Tamara's workshops at this time. Next best thing. Order it, you won't be disappointed. I would even recommend for someone who is already in the industry since it goes in depth about workflow and the business end. Which she has obviously nailed.

This video is certainly jam packed with useful information that goes beyond what the book can from Tamara Lackey. I have both and watched the dvd after I read the book. For the first time I can say the Movie lived up to be more than the book! Not to say the book wasn't useful and a great way to really get to know Tamara's outlook on photographing children. There are just so many real moment examples in the DVD that you can't get with a book. I think this is a great "workshop on dvd" and that is just as good if not better than seeing Tamara in person at one of the big conventions! I've seen her at WPPI and there's just no way she can pack this much info into the limited time she has on stage at a big Convention. Any way you slice it, book, dvd, or in person Tamara has great advice and a truly real outlook on Children's photography and is a great inspiration. Definitely something to add to your educational library!

Good Book and it includes a DVD. I was looking for pointers in taking pics of my Grandkids to be used in Scrapbooking.

Nice intro book. I expected a little more depth but that was probably my fault. Good for beginners. Ms Lackey is entertaining as a writer and presenter and has many helpful techniques especially for people photography

I enjoy Tamara teaching and she provided great examples. Wish it had more to provide but all in all a good product.
