Loved the book.
I read this book a long time ago and it still remains in my memory. Very excellently written and wish I could find where I placed this book!

Great Historical content
I found this book to be exciting and interesting from start to finish. Being from the area this book is focusing on, I could close my eyes and picture the proxy bride and the mountain man (in living color) as they first met, moved off up to their new home and thru the long hard Washington State winters. The coming of spring and the Mighty Columbia in all her glory...

I found this book to be exciting and interesting from start to finish. Being from the area this book is focusing on, I could close my eyes and picture the proxy bride and the mountain man (in living color) as they first met, moved off up to their new home and thru the long hard Washington State winters. The coming of spring and the Mighty Columbia in all her glory prior to the dams being built. The family was close knit and their laughter and tears came true to life before my eyes.

Just AWESOME!,

I read this book for the first time when I was 13. Having an older sister that was 7 years older than me kept my romance vocab up to date. This book was one of the greatest. I read it at least 9 times. I would've read it again but someone stole half of the book in the locker room. From page 189 on. I finally found it again. I am ecstatic!
