Better to use this tamerind product in cooking than for making a beverage. It is harder to disolve in water. It is really good to use in making Masala or Chutney. Heat helps it to mix in, whereas it take a lot of work to thin it with water. It still contains some seeds.

It's fine tamarind paste for cooking uses. Very thick, and I've now had two jars of the stuff actually start leaking out of the top (there's some sort of pressure buildup if you don't use much at a time - I had used just a tsp and shelved it for a month, and the next time I looked I had a mess on my hands). If you're unsure, keep it in your pantry on top of a paper towel in case this happens to you.

Tamarind paste gives delicious slightly sour taste to dark meat of chicken, pork and beef.
Make a stew without potato, because potato is not good in a sour dish.
Add 1 table spoon of tamarind to 2 lbs of meat and 2 onions.
Dry oregano, cumin powder, salt, pepper and garlic to taste.
Mix everything and cook till ready.
99% of your guests will like the dish very much.
For lean parts of beef use tamarind to marinade meat overnight before cooking it in a slow cooker.

I have used this Tamarind Paste to make soy and teriyaki sauce. It is thick, rich, flavorful, and has lasted over 6 months in my refrigerator. A must for those who enjoy a molasses/prune paste flavor and an easy way to had tamarind flavor without buying whole bean tamarinds that are hard to process into food. This paste dissolves easily and is concentrated.

This came out great with our Tamarind glazed jerk chicken wings.
I've never used it before so was cautious. It gives a tangy flavor.

This stuff is GREAT! I do not always have access to fresh Tamarind or, have the time to mess with it when I can find it so this "Tamicom Tamarind Paste" comes to the rescue quite nicely.
Granted this is a concentrate and not the fresh so there will be a flavor difference(which can vary by region your fresh comes from anyway) but for marinades, salad dressings, smoothies and many other places that you would use Tamarind this works great.
My jar came early, was still well sealed (living at high altitude that is a good sign) and the product was as advertised.
The jar says paste but mine came closer to a thick real molasses consistency.
I would and have recommended this product to others.
There are a wealth of recipes out there for this wonderful sweet and sour ingredient so get some and enjoy.
