You don t get to choose to have a relationship with this person your child loves; you will have a relationship with this person. All that is up to you is what kind of relationship will it be. Covering the wedding, boundaries, communication, and conflict resolution you are given tools and insight into many other relationships that came before to better build your own. Divorce, Death, and Grandmothering are covered and you are given information on how to build a better relationship where the daughter-in-law or son-in-law has different cultural views and beliefs that you. About the Author
The authors have over 25 combined years in research and therapy. Leanne Braddock is a practicing Marriage and Family Therapist; Ileene Huffard is Associate Professor of Education at Freed-Hardeman University; and Zannette Uriell conducts research on personnel issues. Together they operate the Good Mother-in-Law Project.

This book is full of interesting things regarding the mother/daughter-in-law relationship. The research the authors put into this book is priceless and a fantastic start to looking deeper into such a complex relationship. A must read for any counselor, mother/daughter-in-law, or anyone looking for an interesting book to read.

Myself being the old dog, this book taught me I could not only learn new tricks, but that it was fun and heart felt in doing them. This book was an answer to prayer to learn what God expects of me as a mother-in-law. I am looking forward to each time son and DIL come for a visit now, instead of being on eggshells. This book taught me how to be a mother-in-law and through the readings I learned how to experience peace in my heart.
