Great value!
I found this guide very useful and different from other guides in that each page of text has a useful explanation with it. Other guides always have an explanation or summery at the end. I found this was very easy to use and follow and would definitely recommend it to students.

This play SUCKS!!!!!
Of all the Shakespeare works I've read in school, I liked this one the least. In my opinion, the story is absolutely horrible--I didn't like how Petruchio "tamed" strong and intelligent Kate by treating her like an animal. I was hoping that she would find a way to triumph over his mistreatment. I also didn't like Kate's speech at the end about how all women should be...

Of all the Shakespeare works I've read in school, I liked this one the least. In my opinion, the story is absolutely horrible--I didn't like how Petruchio "tamed" strong and intelligent Kate by treating her like an animal. I was hoping that she would find a way to triumph over his mistreatment. I also didn't like Kate's speech at the end about how all women should be like slaves to their husbands. It is disgusting. I'm surprised that with a message like that, The Taming Of The Shrew is one of Shakespeare's more popular plays even today. Yuck! X_X
