As time allows, he still writes at his original blog, LifeAfterDx, one of the early diabetes social media sites. He has Type-1 Diabetes and wears a CGM.
In addition to writing, Dubois has spent the last half-dozen years running the diabetes education program for a rural non-profit in the mountains of New Mexico, in the fifth-poorest county in the United States. He's one of the original community faculty members for the University of New Mexico's School of Medicine's Project ECHO.
He says he'll get some rest after the cure.

I especially like how Wil introduces that most feared topic, diabetes complications or "scary-assed-side-effects". We all know people whose relatives were stricken with various complications. But as he says "Make tiny changes in your eating and activity, and you change your health destiny. You call the shots."
I think this book should be required reading for everyone who's just been told they have diabetes. The information is enough to get you started on the right road. Wil doesn't hold anything back, but he provides you with a great set of rules for starting your life with diabetes.
Disclaimer: Wil gave me a copy of his book, and I read it without any expectations. I'm thankful I had a chance to learn the basics again after 36 years with diabetes.
