Since I am writing this less than 24 hours since it was first available on Amazon, I think it is pretty safe to say that this book is an "I can not put this down" read. I love shifters and read almost anything I can get my hands on that is shifter related. Reading as much as I do of this type of book, I find that I often end up reading the same story over and over again. I do not overly mind that because usually there is a spin in there that makes it interesting enough to enjoy it. What was amazing refreshing about this book is that it was no lat the "same old" were story I have been reading lately. Did the "love story" arc fall into a fairly predictable pattern? Yes, but that is why most of us read them. We like knowing it will somehow work out.

I think what I found most refreshing about this particular were story is that it showed the animal side of a were. It was not simply a person who looked like a wolf or vice versa. This side of them made each of the characters quite interesting. I have to admit, one of the were's I thought was going to turn out to be one of the "bad guys" was not. I love that I was surprised by that. I also loved that even though this is number one in a series, this is a complete book in and of itself. It is not a cliff hanger where you feel like you only read half the book. I will definitely be recommending this book to friends and keeping my eyes peeled for the second book in this series. It has the potential to become one of my all time favorite were series.

First off, let me say that I am generally not as much of a fan of werewolf paranormals-they just don't usually get my blood going. That said, Taming the Wolf was a fabulous book! I really meshed with Anna and I loved experiencing her entry into the wolf pack right along with her. And did I mention how super hot this book is? The chemistry Nelson creates in this story is sizzling. I highly recommend it and I can't wait to read more in the Anna Avery series.

I received this book as and Advanced Reader Copy (ARC)

Before I read this book, I would have told you that Werewolves were my least favorite reads, but Taming the Wolf has changed all of that. I love Anna and her spunky attitude, plus the sexual nature of the wolves in this pack. This book is HOT!!! I can't wait for the next book in the series.

I've never been into the whole werewolf scene myself, but decided to read "Taming the Wolf" because I browsed the book before adding it to my kindle and found myself curiously interested in reading it. I was engrossed from page one and couldn't stop reading. I loved Anna particularly, her ongoing description of her human and wolf side made the book very exciting. I am dying to read the next book in this series.

The book has all the elements I love - a romance, a suspense and werewolves; and author Stephanie Wilson put them all to good use, creating a yarn that is believable and probable in a world inhabited by werewolves and humans.

Before I start waxing philosphical, here's a short synopsis: Bitten by a werewolf and left to die, Anna was saved by Adam, the alpha of the pack in Big Horn Mountains, Wyoming. There is attraction between them, but Adam is an alpha and purebred, while Anna is the lowest werewolf in the totem pole and "made", and thus according to tradition, cannot be mate to an alpha. So, how will they find their HEA?

For those of us who follow the werewolf lore, "Taming the Wolf" actually reinforces all the "lore" that had been written. Author Stephanie Wilson took one step further by making the werewolves more human because she put in the element of prejudice and "class" or pecking order. We have always known about the alpha and the beta, but after them, we don't really know how the other wolves are placed in the pecking order. Ms. Wilson took the time to place everyone in the pack. And for that alone, the book is worth 5 stars. Of course, the mystery/suspense was also worth it, so is the romance between Adam and Anna.

The book is rated M for Mature due to violence and sex.

First thoughts after.......
hmmmmm..... I want to op on the 2nd book! LOL

How distracted did I get?
Who doesn't love an Alpha wolf? <3 Poor Anna gets turned to a werewolf and she so strong and spunky that she has issues with not looking in the Alpha's eyes and staring him down and the alpha female. I LOVED Anna. She had the strength and with that is my fave in a female lead character. Add in Adam the Alpha......yum.....

Taming the Wolf is an action/love packed book that I thoroughly enjoyed and will have a hard time waiting for the next. I was able to finish the story in 2 days even with 2 decent shifts at work and a twin with the stomach flu!

Anna Avery is attacked by a wolf while on a hike in the Wyoming mountains. She wakes up confused and "changed". Anna must now learn her place in her new pack. It's not easy being a beta wolf because Anna is not submissive. The pack alpha Adam is a yummy pure blood male who secretly wants Anna. But he already has a pack alpha female Eve. So where could their romance go? Adam tells her she must date Sawyer. She resists at first but comes to realize that Sawyer is a nice guy. But her heart and mind cannot agree. Will she chose Adam or Sawyer? Dead bodies start to turn up around town. The pack suspects Anna because she was the last to see them alive. Is she a killer? What really happened when she was bitten and changed into a wolf? Great read. Enjoyed this book. Cannot wait to read the second book.

This book is ticking bomb waiting to go BOOM. Every page made you want to read more and more. I probably stayed up till four in the morning telling myself that if I read to the next chapter I will be able to stop for the night but that never happened. I just kept going and going like I was racing and when I hit the end I just sat there in awe! This is another great book by Stephanie Nelson and I am anxious to read more. Also thank you for creating these ink filled master piece.
