Not just for beginners!,
By Mary Jo Fay "author of 'When Your Perfect Par... (Parker, Colorado) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Taming Your Computer: The Simple Basics (Spiral-bound)
I don't consider myself a beginner but I'm certainly not a Geek either. Yet, this book helps me quickly locate the most frequent questions that I regularly stumble over ... those things I don't do enough to become automatic at them. Changing paper directions, creating mailing labels, cleaning up email forwards, changing my wallpaper, and so many more. I flip to the index, find the topic, go to the quick answer (in large type for those of us who frequently have to hunt for our glasses!) and in seconds, I'm on to the next task. This is the ultimate in easy, fast, and moving on help ... It sits right next to my computer - NOT on the shelf collecting dust!I highly recommend it to anyone and certainly for beginners.

A Good Way to Learn About Your Computer,
This review is from: Taming Your Computer: The Simple Basics (Spiral-bound)
This is a wonderful book for anyone who is new to the world of computers. The information has been presented in a very clear format. The size of the print is especially appealing for senior citizens. The illustrations and diagrams that accompany each subject are very accurate. The book is very "user friendly" both for the new user and the one who wants to expand his or her understanding of how the computer works and what it has to offer.

I picked this book up planning to give it to my computer illiterate mother. Even though I work with computers all day every day I decided to glance through it and found myself saying, "Wow! I did not know I could do that!" on more than one occasion. I can not wait to see my mother's skills improve once she reads through this book.
Thank you to Barb Walker for putting so much amazingly useful information in such a simply to understand format. No more need for those "big" computer books.
