Product Description

Detailed 1/72 scale model kit of the Bell X-1, the first aircraft to exceed the speed of sound in controlled, level flight. The Bell X-1 was immortalized on October 14, 1947, when X-1 No. 46-062 (christened "Glamorous Glennis") piloted by Captain Charles "Chuck" Yeager exceeded Mach 1, thus breaking the once thought unbreakable "Sound Barrier". This 1/72 scale model kit features clear parts to allow display of X-1's rocket motor, optional open or closed cockpit door, detailed cockpit, and decals to recreate the historic X-1 No. 46-062 "Glamorous Glennis" and 4 other X-1s.

Good model for my son's science school project. Good instructions. Smaller in size than we anticipated, but very detailed.
