5.0 out of 5 stars WONDERFUL NEW YA FANTASY July 5, 2011
By GC
Format:Kindle Edition
Tamporlea is a YA fantasy unlike anything I've read before. Tiffany builds her characters and setting in a way that you can really picture yourself in Tamporlea going along for the ride. The story is complex and exciting. Although Tamporlea is a place of magic and fantasy, it's still very much grounded in reality. You are sucked into this world that is beautiful on the outside but crawling with deceit on the inside.
The surprises within the plot aren't even touched upon in the description of this book and I found myself shocked at every twist and turn. The ending had me wanting more and I cannot wait until the second book

5.0 out of 5 stars Up and coming New writer! June 30, 2011
By M. Mott

Tamporlea is a very ambitious project and I hope that the author continues to write with such energy and gusto! My only critique is perhaps that the book reads more like YA ( the tone and main character being 17yrs old) except there is a certain romantic scene that leans towards an adult romance, though it tends towards a very moralistic approach. Being that I'm an adult it doesn't bother me so much, but as someone who works with youth, I could be concerned about it. Otherwise I'm making that sound worse than it is. There is nothing hardcore and the author keeps it pretty pg.
I would also like to touch on how great this book is! The author does leave you with a sense of urgency at the end of the first book and you direly cannot wait till the next one! If she continues the same practice in future books, she'll definitely have readers hanging on her every word. I'm really glad she has these books coming out fairly soon after one another! Definitely a great writer to be able to pound out such quality in such a short time.
She definitely keeps the story nicely mysterious and complex, without losing the reader! I felt I could easily read the story and that instead of puzzling out what she was saying, I could puzzle out the mystery of the history of the main character. I would like more on the history of the name of Tamporlea. It's touched upon, but seemed very brief for such an interesting name! Definitely give this book a try, you'll find yourself hooked!

5.0 out of 5 stars Doubleshot Reviews book review December 18, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
It has been a long time since I've read a fantasy book and I truly forgot how enjoyable a well written fantasy can be. The details the author used to describe the world Jasmine was introduced to were amazing and so vivid I wanted to become queen of Tamporlea! Yes there are certain aspects of Tamporlea that aren't perfect, but I have to take a guess that some of the things I noticed are meant to be. I am, in fact, reading part 1 of a trilogy and I haven't gotten the whole picture. Otherwise it's just the occasional error missed in editing, which happens

The characters Tiffany Lovering created within the world of Tamporlea were so much fun and, in my opinion, very realistic as to the situations they were presented and how they reacted. I could easily envision them in my head. Jasmine, the human who is brought into the world of Tamporlea to become their queen, is a smart and sassy gal that I think would be a great person to know in real life. She is strong, intelligent and thinks quickly on her feet. Callalilly is probably my favorite character. She's spunky and smart, but unafraid to take on her role and do what she must to keep her Queen and world safe. Orion and Tyran are another great couple of characters we meet while learning about the beautiful land of Tamporlea.

While I have a guess as to where things may be heading I look forward to learning more as the story progresses into Unjust (book 2) and Reunification (book 3), which I hope to get my hands on soon. The world the author created was one of beauty and magic, yet with qualities I am interested to see if Queen Jasmine chooses to change or leave alone. In a nutshell, based simply on the first book I have to say Tamporlea is a must read for Young Adult and Adults who are fans of the fantasy genre.
