Product Description

The Expedition 3 offers expedition-level performance in a compact photo backpack. This full-featured pack is perfect for holding most SLRs with a lens attached up to 7-Inches long, 3-4 additional lenses and accessories. For maximum protection, the pack is fully padded with thick, closed-cell foam. A cinch strap keeps the camera in place while a large rain flap protects the main compartment zippers. Features include:QuickClip(TM) tripod attachment system with vinyl reinforced mesh pocket, front accessory pocket with Tamrac's U.S. patented Memory & Battery Management System(TM) that uses red flags to identify which memory cards and batteries are available and which ones are used up, EasyGrip(TM) handle, inner Windowpane-Mesh(TM) accessory pockets, and padded backpack harness. Add Tamrac accessories to the Strap Accessory System(TM) (S.A.S.) and Modular Accessory System(TM) (M.A.S.) attachment slots to customize this pack.

Recently purchased this backpack case to ease my efforts as the pack mule for my spouse, the photographer. Just have to turn around for quick access to the bag by the photographer. Hands are always free. Never have to put it down or juggle things. Do not have to constantly worry about theft since the bag is never left unattended. That is a great relief since it has always been my responsibility to guard our Nikon system from those seeking a discount acquisiton at my expense. I would recommend this backpack to anyone. One thing lacking, however, is a sternum strap. I have added one found at a local expedition outfitter. Also added another divider taken from an old bag to serve as a shelf. -Enjoy-

I love this backpack. It has everything I wanted in a camera bag; I've now given away my old one. It has room for everything, yet remains very compact. It has a rugged enough feel. Since it is a backpack and not a shoulder bag it matches the way I want to travel with my camera (plus some non photographic stuff makes it in the bag for the trip). There is a loop strap on the side which is perfect for fastening my travel tripod (the tripod case has a button strap that fits here just right).

This bag will likely hold 1 camera body, and two lenses - with a couple of other misc. If that second lense is a large zoom lense, consider purchasing something else.

Also - think about different colors. I purchased this before I noticed that [someone else] was offering the identical model in black for cheaper.

The backpack is comfortable to wear enough, but that front mesh pouch that is depicted holds next to nothing. The internal velcro compartments are awkward to use if the backpack is packed too tightly.
