Fantastic SLR backpack,
By Sam Hershey "Sam" (Chelsea, MA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Tamrac 527401 Expedition 4 Photo Backpack (Black) (Electronics)
I purchased this backpack to carry my Nikon D100 and five lenses of different size.Immediately it is convenient because the velcro-attached compartments can be resized easily to fit almost any SLR. The only thing that would be a problem are those battery packs that often attach to the bottom of professional-level SLRs. It would probably be a tight fit if I had one of those, but that said, my camera and all the lenses fit perfectly and I still have room for a couple more lenses. The bag also has a number of zippered compartments both on the inside and outside, for things like film, batteries, or extra memory cards if you have a digital camera. The adjustable straps are very comfortable and the bag also has cross straps that go aross your chest and waist. I don't use the waist one, but find that weight is distributed a bit more evenly if I use the chest strap. The great thing about having a back-pack is that it frees up my hands immensely compared to the old shoulder-bag I used to use for my SLR. While the bag is not water-proof. It is of a very heavy design and even has flaps over the zippers that can keep out a light rain if you get caught in one. I highly recommend this for the advanced photographer with an SLR and around four to six lenses depending on their sizes. Tamrac also sells a larger version, which I would imagine would be useful to someone with more equipment, so do check that one out if you have a lot of stuff. Then again, I must say that it would probably be rather heavy to handle if you had a backpack larger than this one fully loaded.

Great Little Backpack,
By Purple Girl (LA, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Tamrac 527401 Expedition 4 Photo Backpack (Black) (Electronics)
This is a great little backpack. It holds my Nikon D100, a 300mm zoom lens, and two other lenses. It has nifty pockets for storing filters, cables, batteries, memory cards, etc... It is sturdy enough to strap a lightweight tripod to it. The shoulder pads are nicely padded so it comfortable even when it's loaded with gear.
