Tamrac makes the best camera bags. Before buying a particular bag, check out www.tamrac.com and make sure it fits your camera.

3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed, July 18, 2002

Originally purchased a LowePro TLZ Mini for an Olympus 2100UZ based on recommendations at [another website]. The TLZ was well constructed, but, in my opinion, camera compartment seemed too large to adequately support/protect the camera. Decided to keep looking.

Discovered the Tamrac Digital Series 6 bag during an online bag search and ordered it. Seemed like it would be a better fit based on Tamrac website info - despite other opinions posted below. The Tamrac is a little smaller and, to me, a better fit for the camera than the LowePro. It appears that I can store the camera and an A200 teleconverter in the bag. Didn't anticipate this. Camera can be stored in the bag on it's back (LCD on the bottom) or opposite direction (LCD on the top). I would expect to do the latter with the A200 stored at the bottom of the bag alongside the lens barrel.

However, the Tamrac does not have the structural rigidity of the LowePro and amount of padding is noticeably less. Four elasticized loops exist in the inside of the front pocket for battery storage, rather than separate pockets for smartmedia storage and battery storage, as pictured on the bag at the Tamrac website. Not pleased with the fit of the bag flap when flap is fastened down and carry handle is used to carry the bag. Big gap exists, roughly 1.5", between bottom of bag flap and top of camera further emphasizes limpness of this bag compared to the LowePro.

Tamrac fit is better for the 2100UZ, but LowePro construction is better. Anticipated on keeping the Tamrac, until I saw the LowePro Nova Mini when I returned the LowePro TLZ Mini. Decided to get the Nova Mini and I've been very pleased. Like the construction and rigidity of all LowePro bags. The Nova Mini is a little larger, but camera is safer and I can carry AC adaptor and A/V cables that I previously couldn't.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Little Bag, September 23, 2001

This is not a large gagget bag, and will not hold all of your photo equipment, but if you want a small compact bag large enough to carry just the basics, then this is the bag for you. I recently took this bag along with an Olympus 2100UZ (which fits like the bag was made for this camera) spare bateries, extra cards, and a couple filters on a cruise and it was small enough not to get in the way. It has a removable shoulder strap, handle, and a belt loop. One zippered pocket on front of the top flap and one inside. Another zippered pocked in front under the flap where I placed the batteries and filters. I purchased the Olympus leather fitted case for 2100UZ, but sent it back (with tears in my eyes because it is so beautiful) and kept this bag instead. The only thing that could make this bag better, would be leather instead of ballistic nylon.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great bag for Canon Powershot S2 IS, October 14, 2005
This review is from: Tamrac 5696 Digital 6 - Digital/Photo/Video Bag (Black) (Electronics)
Bought this for my Canon Powershot S2 IS and it's a great snug fit. Love the double latching system (both a latch and velcro). Feels very sturdy and well padded. Lots of carrying options: strap, belt strap, and padded handle. Lots of little pockets for accessories, can hold up to two sets of 4 AA batteries. Plenty of space for extra cards, cables, lens cleaning pen. I haven't gotten my Lens adapter and telephoto adapters for the PowerShot S2 yet. I hope that they'll fit though.

I picked up the lens adapter for the Canon S1 which increased the dimensions of the camera. This Tamrac case is the perfect match for it and I am able to carry 3 extra memory cards, an extra set of 4 AA batteries as well as a cleaning pen and an audio/video cable.

The top down storage of the camera also makes for fast removal/storage.

Excellent design and quality.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for Medium Size Digital Cameras, December 7, 2001
By

This review is from: Tamrac 5696 Digital 6 - Digital/Photo/Video Bag (Black) (Electronics)
As a user of an Olympus Camedia C700 which, as a digital camera -- due to its 10X zoom -- has a lightly longer lens, I was happy to find this medium-sized Tamrac 5696 Digital Photo Bag since it holds my camera perfectly.

The main section carries the camera. The front accessory pocket is great for batteries and my extra Flash Media (or other memory) cards. There's even a zippered compartment in the bag's top flat which I use to store my camera's USB sync cable.

The camera bag comes with a convenient shoulder strap. But it also has belt loops (for wearing on your best if you so choose) that work with Tamrac's MAS (Modular Accessory System) line -- which enables various mix-and-match camera, lens and accessory cases to be attached to a MAS system wide-web belt, or to each other.

I use the Tamrac MAS system to tote a combination of 35 mm SLR's, lenses and auto-focus cameras. With the new Tamrac 5696 Digital Photo Bag, I can now carry my digital camera as well.

Tamrac makes great equipment. You can't go wrong.

This bag rocks. It has everything you want for a digital camera. It will comfortably hold a digital camera (regular size), some cables, battery charger, extra batteries and flash cards. Good buy!

5.0 out of 5 stars This is a very nice camera case!, March 20, 2005
This review is from: Tamrac 5696 Digital 6 - Digital/Photo/Video Bag (Black) (Electronics)
The materials and manufacturing are very good quality. I bought this as a gift for my dad for his Nikon 8700. It seems to be a very good choice. The dimensions listed in the product details section are the external measurements. The camera compartment inside measures approx. 5 W x 3 D x 6 H without flexing the case sides. The case is flexible so it will accomidate a camera with a body slightly wider than 3 in, possibly up to 3.5 or 4 in. The camera compartment has an adjustable/removeable divider so you can fit another large accessory.
