The Aero Speed Pack 85 Dual Access Photo/Laptop Backpack features an innovative Dual Access System™ that allows fast access through the side door when the pack is worn over one shoulder. Equipment can also be accessed through the front panel when the pack is removed. This versatile backpack holds and protects a DSLR with a grip and lens attached (including most 70-200mm f/2.8 zoom lenses), 2-3 additional lenses and accessories. A separate, foam-padded laptop compartment holds most 17" screen laptops. For weather protection, the side door is equipped with a water-resistant zipper while the front panel has a weather flap. Inside the side door, accessory pockets hold memory cards, lens caps and other accessories. In addition to the completely foam padded bottom compartment, the pack has a large top compartment perfect for personal items, such as a lunch or light jacket. An elasticized mesh side pocket provides convenient access to a water bottle. The pack features a carrying handle and a comfortable, foam-padded backpack harness contoured to distribute the weight of the camera gear across the shoulders.

Since my purchase of the Tamrac 3385 kit, I have had a couple of occaisions to load it up with my Canon 50d, three glass lenses and a few various aids and hike 2-3 miles with great comfort doing a couple of nature shoots. I really love these shoulder straps. Think the weight distribution is well centered on the body making for a comfortable unit. It also is a fairly lightweight backpack.
The weather piping on the compartment zips appear to be well done, but I rate the quick access not as high, and I think the tripod carry should be located elswhere.

The lower compartment of this camera bag works well if you carry just a few lenses, even though you pretty much HAVE to have your longer lens attached to the camera when you put it in the bag, as otherwise you won't have a proper space for it.

The upper compartment, on the other hand, is nearly useless. One open, undivided space, with a few pocket withoug a zipper, anything you put in it will be bouncing all over the place and, depending on circumstances, it will be likely to fall out of the bag when you open it.

I bought the bag for a trip to Italy because I planned a lot of walking and touring. Half of the bag is strictly dedicated to camera equipment and unless you plan to carry 3 to 4 lenses and a few other pieces of equipment, I feel this bag is just too large. Tamrac could have utilized the space much better. As far as stability, the bag is top notch. The new laptop compartment is great but do not plan on fitting much more than a laptop. Overall I think this is a good product but the size isn't suitable for my intended purpose.

Also, the tripod and the cleaning click are great. I dont know why anyone would buy just the bag if the kit is the same price.
