2.0 out of 5 stars Quite deceiving...
I've ordered this padded water bottle together with the MAS Harnass belt, and I've been quite disappointed how it looks like in reality - cheap plastic, which even doesn't give confidence enough to try it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Low/No Quality Water Bottle, June 16, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Tamrac M.A.S. Water Bottle in Padded Carrier (Black) (Electronics)
When the Tamrac Water Bottle in the Padded case arrived, the top of the plastic water bottle would not seal. While Tamrac builds quality products this is not one of them. I own other products from Tamrac and I expected more from this company. If you order this product plan to replace the water bottle before going on a trip. Normally I would return a defective product but replacing like-for-like accomplishes nothing. The padded case has value but you have to decide if the cost (without the water bottle) is worth it.

As an added bonus it comes with a water bottle! (Yea, I know it says that but since I was buying it to hold my coffee mug I didn't pay attention and it turned into a nice surprise.)

* If you're confused about the "like the picture" reference; up till just after I posted my review the picture Amazon had on the product page was for this: Tamrac MX5378 BlackMX5378 MAS Lens Case Large (Black). That issue was also raised by a number of previous reviewers. I don't know if it was corrected by coincidence or someone at Amazon actually read my review. I'm also not sure which would be scarier and am glad to be helpful in any event.

Title says it all. All of the other reviews are correct in that the bottle is a cheap carnival giveaway. I expected that going in but really wanted the holder for my SIGG bottle - which fits nice and cozy. I put a small carabiner at the top to secure it (not that it needs one, you just never know) and works great. Great addition to my tamrac bag, just pretend you didn't see the bottle.

Nice case, well made, does what it is supposed to do. The only negative is the included bottle. I would much prefer the case to be a few dollars less and not receive the low quality bottle. I use this with a 24 oz NALGENE Tritan OTG BPA-Free Water Bottle. It fits perfect.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just Ok, May 4, 2010

Okay...

I got this item recently and I found it just okay...

I liked the Padded Carrier which is excellent in quality, materials, and finishing. However; the Water Bottle is not that good.

The thickness of the bottle water is quite thin which results in quick loss of cold... Although it's most of the time inside the padded carrier, however that wont help a lot... it is a very standard water bottle but has Tamrac Logo only.

Over all, it's Just OK

If you carry any Tamrac photo backpack that supports the modular add on system these are a must. There is simply no other way to carry water with you unless you have a second bag or carry the water in your hand the whole time. A very inexpesive and elegant solution.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Nice Addition to the Modular System, June 10, 2011
This review is from: Tamrac M.A.S. Water Bottle in Padded Carrier (Black) (Electronics)
I went to a local shop yesterday to check out this product and I was a little shocked by the price and by the quality of the bottle. I'm not really worried about the bottle that comes with the case, but it'd be nice if it wasn't included and maybe the case was a three to five dollars cheaper.

The case itself is of a good quality and will fit most bottles of about 20-25 ounces with no problem and maybe some larger bottles, but I'd worry about carrying taller bottles because they'd probably get in the way.

I'm pretty sure I'll buy one of these in the near future, so that I can have some fluids with me when I'm out in hot weather and need to wet my whistle.

I have another Tamrac modular case for my Nikon Speedlight that is attached to my Tamrac 5502 Explorer 2 Camera Bag (Blue) and I'm impressed with the system.

As some have stated, the bottle is a throwaway, but the case is everything it should be and the price is roughly comparable to other modular cases in this line.

Now that I think about it, the case probably comes with a bottle just to make sure people know what the case is for and don't start suing Tamrac because someone's expensive lens gets ruined carrying it around in a case made for a water bottle. :D

i can believe people going mad about the water bottle that comes whit this product, for me the important is the padded carrier for ANY bottle (water, energy drink, cola, etc), i believe that the carrier can manage a 1 lts water bottle because is very wide open.
The quality of materials is Tamrac quality, and you can fit it with any belt and keep water near you (perfect for hiking)
