When I fitted this lens to my Canon 60 D I thought it looked like a quality item. However, looking into the viewfinder I saw a dark circle and the zoom ring turned a little and then would not turn at all (yes, it was unlocked). I tried setting the switch to manual focus and turned the focus ring a few times. Eventually the zoom ring turned again and the lens seems to function.

It is a worry that the lens has something loose inside that randomly connects and reconnects - that is the lens may be broken. Alternatively, they may all be built like this. Perhaps that the word 'Stabilise' is mis-spelt in the item name is a clue to the quality.

The glass seems to allow sharp enough pictures. I'm just not sure when the zoom will stop working again.

Exercise caution.

Follow up information: The zoom ring stopped working completely and I have now returned the lens for a refund. For anyone who may misunderstand this review: The lens will fit a canon 60D. The lens I received did not work and was physically faulty.

I have received the product on time. Packaging was good. Product was not physically damaged. But It was a faulty lens. I suppose get f 2.8 to 32 but With my t3i I was only able to use f2.8 when changed f to another value camera always lost the connection with the lens. I have returned it and it was prompt. Seller refund my money right away.

this lens is awesome, at the time of order this lens I had mix feeling because somebody said that it showed a black ring at his canon 60D, I have a canon 60D and I got some concern about to buy this lens. I contact people form tamron and I asked about the compatibility with my Canon 60D, and they told me there is no problem with this lens and my camera. I ordered from COOL JAPAN OSAKA Select Shop at Amazon (nice deal $391.95, almost $250 less than other Sellers at USA), and now I have a great lens. I love it.

I bought this lens as a replacement for the 18-55 kit lens on my Canon body after searching around for a basic upgrade. Online reviews for it were mostly positive, but I did see a lot of commentary about the softness of images produced when taken wide open. After using it for a few weeks now, I can say that images are a bit soft at the edges when wide open, but become extremely sharp once stopped down beyond 3-4. I can't see anyone complaining about the sharpness beyond 7-8. Tack sharp. The VC "vibration compensation" on this lens is impressive and very useful if you plan on shooting hand held in low light. The body itself is mostly plastic, but surprisingly, does not feel cheap. The physical appearance of the body is attractive and professional. After all is said, it's a very good lens considering the asking price and the only reason I did not rate it 5 stars, is due to the image softness at wide open and the considerable noise the internals produce when auto focusing.

The seller was professional and efficient. My product was boxed neatly and arrived from Japan quickly. I would definitely recommend this seller.
