Tamron AF 75-300mm f/4.0-5.6 LD for Nikon Digital SLR Cameras

I bought this lens with my Nikon D80 and used it a great deal of the time. Partnered with a warming filter, this lens took nice pictures. It was a workhorse for me until I started doing outside shots at football games. This its slow AF became an issue and I upgraded to the Tamrom AF 70-300 Di model. I also took some close up shots with this lens, but I had to get quite a ways back. This is a good starter zoom, but will show its shortcomings pretty soon.

This tamron lens is good....for its price. Though I did not know that my camera
(D3100) has no built in motor so I use this with manual focus. My fault.
I recommend this lens. It would be great if Tamron can come out with
similar affordable lens with 70mm-500mm.

A wonderful beginners lens to practice telephoto skills, especially for the price! I bought it to take photos in Yellowstone National Park, and it never failed me when I wanted to zoom in on animals and landscape features!

Although if you are looking for the most amazing lens quality, this is not for you!

This lens is wonderful! I've taken many amazing photos with this lens (not my skill at all). The company expedited the shimpent and it arrived in time for my trip back in October. I've enjoyed everything about this lens and the surprise camera bag (included free) was so nice.

I was looking for a long lens for my Nikon D3000 and well the price was a object. I knew this wasn't a Nikkor lens but the quality was good. Although the auto-focus does not work on my camera I like this lens. It is sharp with smooth zoom and focus.
As a former newspaper photographer I have always enjoyed working with a long lens to get the shot without being too close and this lens works well in that role. You get what you pay for but in this case you get a bit more.

We bought this item as a gift and had it shipped directly to the recipient who seems to be very happy with the item. This of course is not a high quality lens for the professional, but is adequate for the hobbyist.

First of all, I am not a pro photographer, therefore I couldn't get any cheaper than this lens, good quality, manual as the old school,not comparable to the high end ones than runs over the thousands, but again, for the price hell is good!

The product came on time, as expected.

I ordered this lens from Beachcamera to go with the D40x SLR kit that I was also buying. The lens is nice, zooms smoothly, the optics are crisp, and it does fit onto my new Nikon, but there is NO Auto Focus compatility to the D40x. Beware that the not all lenses labeled "AF" are not all AutoFocus with all cameras in the brand line. Only lenses labeled "AF-S" and "AF-I" are compatible with the D40 and D40x Nikons, and as far as I can tell Tamron doesn't make any of these AF types to mount to a Nikon. Now I have to suffer the S&H and beachcamera's 10% re-stocking fees...don't make the same mistake I made!

delivery was fine but they sent me the 100-300mm instead of the 75-300mm

that was kindof a bummer and they didnt call me and ask first.
