5.0 out of 5 stars Great lens for the price., February 12, 2007

I use this lens primarily for any landscape shots - and some portrait shots where I'm doing more than headshots (I have a much better 50mm for that).

Granted with the magnification for my D70 because it is digital, this is not THE ideal wide-angle lens. The best you get is around 26mm. If you need a wider angle than that and are shotting with a similar Nikon digital SLR, this is not for you....

Otherwise: Coupled with a 77mm circular polarizer, this is an exceptionally sharp lens. While there is a lot of glass area, and you have more chances for glare, it does also come with a hood. I'd also suggest you only use this lens if you have a shoe mount flash - otherwise this lens is so big that it will create shadows with the built-in flash.

Also do consider that this lens is bulky (wide). Be sure you have enough room in your camera bag.

The price for this item is very low considering the use you will get out of it. If I were to lose this lens for one reason or another, I would immediately replace it with the same lens.

I returned this product because there is too much image bending in the corners. But it's a nice lens for the price. I opted for the Sigma 15-30mm 3.5mm instead. More expensive but nearly no bending at the corners on a digital. Cant say the same for film cameras though. I'm not a sales person for sigma, it's just my personal opinion.

Good quality lens, however the wide angle not as wide as I originally thought.
